Job Summary:

The Graphic Designer works primarily on print, digital and web related design projects. This position requires a high level of creativity, detail orientation and a strong eye for design, layout, color and typography. This person is skilled at interpreting a creative brief, either verbal or written, and creating on-brand designs for a variety of uses. An advanced understanding of print, digital and branding is also required. This position will need to be experienced in working in a fast-paced environment with aggressive lead times.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Graphic design for new and existing projects, ensuring a cohesive look and feel, following Sendik’s brand standards 
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by gathering information and materials 
  • Plans concept by studying information and materials 
  • Illustrates concept by designing rough layout of art and copy regarding arrangement, size, type size and style, and related aesthetic concepts 
  • Obtains approval of concept by submitting rough layout for approval Prepares finished copy and art by operating typesetting, printing, and similar equipment 
  • Prepares final layout by marking and pasting up finished copy and art 
  • Collaborate with other designers and marketing to create an engaging customer experience 
  • Developing communication designs for new programs and platforms 
  • Development of print collateral 
  • Execution of weekly on-line/web graphics
  • Minimum BFA in Graphic Design 
  • 1-3 years’ professional design experience 
  • Strong portfolio 
  • Experience working with, creating and translating brand style guides 
  • Excellent communicator who takes direction well and is willing to learn and teach 
  • The ability to sell, present and talk through your design thinking 
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, In Design, Adobe Acrobat) 
  • Experience working closely with a Production Team, with strong understanding of printing process (previous on-press experience a must) 
  • Solid design background with basic understanding of typography, color theory + interface design/layout 
  • Basic understanding of social media and the latest trends associated with the technology 
  • Previous experience in the CPG space (food and beverage a plus)
