Executive Director, Inc. (EDI) is an association management company (AMC) headquartered in downtown Milwaukee. Our professional services firm provides full-service management to almost 40 non-profit global and national associations, primarily in the medical and scientific fields. Our company is composed of two important teams vital to the success of EDI’s business - Client Services and Support Services.Client services are made up of dedicated client teams where staff work with their volunteer leaders and members, who are world renowned professionals in their field, to execute an association’s strategic plan. Client teams can range from 2 to 30+ staff members per team, driven by the needs of the association.

Support services are the foundation of EDI’s AMC model and are shared resources that work with all of our client services teams to help them achieve their goals. Our clients no longer need to worry about staffing or outsourcing functions of their business as everything is taken care of at EDI.

Membership & Communications Manager

CLIENT ASSOCIATION:Chinese American Hematologist Oncologist Network. CAHON

POSITION REPORTS TO:Executive Director

EXEMPT/NON-EXEMPT EMPLOYEE STATUS:Exempt (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week)

GENERAL SUMMARY:

This position works closely with the Executive Director managing activities related to CAHON’s membership, marketing and communications initiatives. In addition, the position implements activities in support of the network’s strategic plan and liaises with committees as assigned to provide assistance and support.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES (Minimum of 37.5 hours/week):

Under the guidance of the Executive Director as well as appropriate volunteer leaders, recommend overall policies, procedures and activities to continuously improve the member experience. Including but not limited to: 

  • Responsible for membership recruitment and retention strategies and implementation. Develop communications and activities to foster continued growth of the network’s membership base 
  • Manage membership processes and procedures including the annual dues process, onboarding new members and managing the membership database
  • Manage the bi-annual President-Elect election process. 
  • Develop and manage mentorship programs and activities 
  • Develop and manage and leadership programs and activities 
  • Manage the annual awards processes 
  • Manage the bi-annual committee appointment process including sending call for volunteers, invitations, tracking responses and managing conflict of interest collection. 
  • Serve as a staff liaison to the CAHON Executive Team, including: scheduling zoom meetings, overseeing the development and distribution of committee materials and tracking of action items, and researching solutions and deliverables for CAHON committees. 
Develop, direct, and maintain a marketing communications strategy that supports the mission and strategic objectives of the CAHON. Including but not limited to: 
  • Overall brand development and key messages to increase CAHON logo recognition CAHON website including revision to page content, navigation, overall site architecture and intractability for member engagement with support from EDI Web Services 
  • Implement all Emails and social media posts to promote CAHON activities and accomplishments 
  • Develop a quarterly newsletter with volunteer leadership 
  • Provide administrative support for network activities as needed.

AMOUNT OF TRAVEL REQUIRED: Approximately 1-3 weeks per year, including some evenings and weekends. 

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Qualifications - Outstanding interpersonal, organizational, and communications skills. 
  • Highly motivated with the ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize to meet multi-faceted and sometimes rapid deadlines. An acute attention to detail and a high level of accuracy on outputs. 
  • Able to work successfully in a small team environment.
  • Education - Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience - 2-5 years of experience required. 
  • Previous association management experience, previous meeting management experience and familiarity with nonprofit boards of directors a plus.
