Job OverviewAssociated Bank is searching for an experienced Public Relations Manager to spearhead our Media and Community relations efforts in Milwaukee and across our three state footprint.
Job DescriptionThe Public Relations Manager is responsible for developing and executing public and community relations plans that support the company’s business goals and objectives. Community Relations refers to the various methods Associated uses to establish and maintain mutually beneficial relationships with communities the bank serves. These methods include, but are not limited to: charitable contributions; colleague volunteer programs; colleague leadership roles in organizations and initiatives that benefit the community; sponsorship opportunities; colleague participation in local government; colleague involvement in business and service groups; community education and culture support; and active involvement in civic activities. 

The Public Relations Manager will generate positive internal and external exposure for the company’s public and community relations activities through strong relationships with community and business leaders, and effective media relations. The Public Relations Manger is also responsible for analyzing and reporting on the results of public and community relations activities.

The following are essential duties of the position: 
• Develops and implements specific public and community relations plans and strategies to support the company’s business goals and objectives.
• Develops and implements corporate-wide charitable contributions, workplace giving, and colleague civic engagement and volunteer programs
• Oversees community relations activities throughout Associated’s three-state footprint.
• Acts as the main day-to-day community relations contact with Associated colleagues and community organizations and leaders.
• Keeps informed of community relations contact with Associated colleague and community organizations and leaders.
• Works closely with the media, capitalizing on opportunities to showcase the company’s public and community relations activities.
• Actively participates in key meetings with regional presidents and senior vice presidents to understand and support public and community relations objectives in each region.
• Prepares monthly public and community relations reports. Measure the effectiveness of public and community relations objectives in each region.
• Assist in identifying key opportunities for senior leadership involvement in public and community relations activities throughout the three-state footprint.
• Regularly reviews the company’s public and community relations initiatives with the Director of Public Relations and senior management.
• Acts as backup to the Director of Public Relations and provides support for media and public relations activities.
Job QualificationsTo qualify you must have a minimum of eight years corporate communications experience with at least five years of experience in public relations or community relations. A solid strategic thinker with demonstrated experience in developing and executing public relations plans and strong media experience. Minimum Education: Bachelors Degree in journalism, public relations or communications.

The ideal candidate will be well established with contacts in the Milwaukee community and media market. Experience in media and community relations must include demonstrated ability to develop plans and execute strategies. Preference will be given to those candidates with experience in a publicly held company with multiple locations and a consumer driven business.
