| Job Description | Job Duties:
Reporting to the UWM Union Marketing Manager and operating under general supervision, the incumbent of this position consults with students, faculty, staff, and other clients to develop design concepts for marketing materials used to promote Union and campus programs and services. This consultation process includes researching, designing and executing all phases of electronic media and print production.
Additionally, this position is responsible for developing and presenting training workshops as well as leading and mentoring part-time staff. This position will also be instrumental in the visual design and branding of numerous Union and Campus Programs including the annual Board of Regents meetings, Pantherfest, campus Open House, Distinguished Lecture Series, Children’s Holiday Festival and other programs provided by the UWM Union, University Departments and registered student organizations. |
| Job Qualifications | Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Highly qualified candidates will have experience in the planning, research, layout, graphic design, and production of promotional materials and web sites including experience with publishing and web development software (e.g. Adobe Acrobat, After Effects, Dreamweaver, Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop/ImageReady, Flash; and Microsoft Office Suite programs).
- Highly qualified applicants will be skilled in the operation of Macintosh computers (i.e. loading and removing application and system software, type fonts, utilities) used in the creation of electronic presentations for programming and public service/outreach purposes.
- Candidates must have experience in creating, designing, and editing video as well as a comprehensive understanding of social media.
- Excellent organizational and task management skills are necessary as the incumbent must be able to track details and handle multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously - often under tight deadlines.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills are crucial as the incumbent must be able to maintain positive working relationships with management and staff at all levels.
- Applicants must also have excellent judgment and problem-solving skills and abilities.
- Qualified candidates will be skilled in the operation and maintenance of production equipment as well as be able to lift and reload 30 pound large-format paper rolls and film.

| Compensation & Benefits | The starting hourly rate has a negotiable range, plus generous vacation, personal holiday, sick leave and other fringe benefits. A 6-month probationary period is required. |
