Job Overview

Madison Gas and Electric (MGE) is recruiting for a Corporate Communications Manager. Serving as both communication strategist and writer, this position will coordinate, manage, and write for a wide range of communications projects from inception through delivery. In this cross-functional role, the Corporate Communications Manager will also provide support to the Manager of Media Relations. 

Job Description

On behalf of Madison Gas and Electric (MGE), The QTI Group is recruiting for a Corporate Communications Manager. Serving as both communication strategist and writer, this position will coordinate, manage, and write for a wide range of communications projects from inception through delivery. The Corporate Communications Manager will participate in the development and implementation of internal and external communication to support MGE’s strategic business goals.Communications will reach a wide, critical audience including employees, investors, customers, and members of the community. Communication projects will focus on building awareness and understanding of MGE.

In this cross-functional role, the Corporate Communications Manager will also provide support to the Manager of Media Relations by assisting in the preparation and distribution of news releases; monitoring media coverage of the company; and responding, at times, to media requests for information.

Job Qualifications

Qualified candidates will possess the following: an undergraduate degree in journalism, communications, public relations or related area; five to seven years of significant corporate communications, public relations and/or newspaper or broadcast experience, preferably in a corporate, government or public agency sector; broad knowledge of media and communication vehicles including print, broadcast, and electronic media; a rigorous attention to accuracy, detail and quality; ability to understand, interpret, and write about complex information; understanding of publication design/layout; excellent project management skills with an ability to manage and coordinate a number of projects within strict timelines and across both the communication and media functions.

The successful candidate will be a collaborative team member with a demonstrated strength in developing and maintaining effective relationships within and outside the organization.
