Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin (BBBSNEW) is seeking an enthusiastic, innovative, dedicated, and mission-focused Community Engagement Manager with excellent communication skills, the ability to handle multiple high-priority tasks simultaneously, and a desire to empower lives through the power of mentorship. This full-time position is accountable for community outreach, volunteer recruitment, partnership development, marketing efforts, and agency communication – all with an eye to expanding BBBSNEW’s brand awareness and mission impact.

The Community Engagement Manager will support long-range strategic priorities, advance the agency’s goals, and persuasively convey the mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Wisconsin to diverse constituencies, including current and prospective youth/families and volunteers, donors, community partners, youth-serving leaders, corporate representatives, board members, and others who are critical to the agency’s overall prosperity.

The Community Engagement Manager will report to the Director of Philanthropy and work closely with BBBSNEW’s Recruitment Manager to secure volunteer inquiries.

Job Duties:

  • Develop mutually beneficial partnerships with community organizations, local leaders, and other constituents to help expand recruitment, reach, and impact. 
  • Coordinate recruitment campaigns to secure volunteers throughout Northeast Wisconsin in partnership with BBBS’ Recruitment Manager. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external constituents to create compelling stories as well as produce original content that will inspire a child, parent, donor, or volunteer into action. 
  • Utilize web design software to develop a wide variety of print, digital and multimedia collateral including but not limited to brochures, flyers, scripts, invitations, banners, promotional materials, and additional event branding materials. 
  • Develop social media marketing campaigns utilizing emerging platforms, digital media, and web/social media management tools. 
  • Maintain and update information on the BBBSNEW website, including updating event registration pages and core website information. 
  • Develop PSAs and coordinate potential media presence for BBBSNEW. 
  • Attend community fairs and events to increase agency visibility and interest. 
  • Travel to Door and Shawano County for community engagement activity as needed.
  • 1 – 3 years of marketing, public relations, and or communication engagement experience required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public administration, public relations or equivalent. 
  • Experience with web design elements and software (Canva, Adobe products etc.). 
  • Experience in website development and maintenance is preferred. 
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the community throughout the workday with full time access to an automobile insurance in the amount required by the state of Wisconsin. 
  • Must complete BBBSA online cultural competency training, or a course with the same objective, within 30 days of hire.
