The Digital Designer is responsible for creating visually captivating digital assets for multimedia and graphic projects across various platforms, including websites, mobile apps, advertising, animation, emails, social media, and interactive displays. The role primarily involves using Adobe Creative Suite, while also requiring a working knowledge of file types, image compression, multiple breakpoint UI (user interface), and other technical specifications of digital and online applications. It is crucial for this individual to stay updated on evolving web standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Create digital assets for multimedia and graphic projects across various platforms. 
  • Utilize Adobe Creative Suite and maintain a working knowledge of technical specifications. 
  • Collaborate with marketing, online merchandising, and technical IT teams. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external clients and design team as needed, conceptualize visual arrangements, and develop illustrations, logos, ads, and graphics in flat image and HTML formats. 
  • Solve problems from both a creative and technical perspective. 
  • Develop designs based on cohesive templates and campaigns. 
  • Develop new functionality and features in conjunction with the online customer experience group, e-commerce product team, and email/CRM team. 
  • Translate design guidelines from customers and partners 
  • Determine art direction for digital designs using current trends in online UI (user interface), technical limitations of medium where art will be placed, and larger in-store/online campaigns. 
  • Present designs to stakeholders and implement feedback and constructive criticism. 
  • Understand Follett's business model and local variations based on school and store characteristics. 
  • Prepare finished files ready for application, work within design workflow tools, and update files and data as necessary to track and archive project work. 
  • Manage time, accuracy, and detail efficiently.

This role is part of the Marketing Design Team and involves traditional graphic design projects, photography, and copywriting as needed. Weekend and evening work will be required during athletics playoff seasons.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in graphic design or comparable work experience. 
  • 5+ years in Graphic or Digital Design, 2+ years of experience in buying in a retail environment preferred. 
  • Advanced competency level in Adobe Create Suite required. 
  • Strong understanding and proficiency in HTML and CSS. 
  • Demonstratable working knowledge of adaptive design principles (changeable design based on screen size). 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook. 
  • Experience working alongside technical IT and product teams to develop digital features. 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. 
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and adapt to a dynamic work environment. 
  • Work well and develop strong relationships with cross-functional teams.
