The Director of Marketing is responsible for leading the development and implementation of commercial strategies to achieve corporate objectives for brands and branded generics. This position is also responsible for partnering with USL colleagues to identify, evaluate & select new brands and branded generics to grow the USL pipeline.

Essential Functions:

  • Operates with a patient centric mindset with all commercial activities. 
  • Lead and direct all activities related to Product Marketing: Product, Price, Place & Promotion for all assigned brand products. 
  • Direct the development of product marketing plans, short term product marketing strategies and annual business plans. Present plans as needed. 
  • Hire, lead, coach, and develop a high performing team. 
  • Partner with Medical Affairs, Legal & Regulatory Affairs to ensure promotional materials are approved through DPRT. 
  • Collaborate with key internal business partners to ensure we are prepared to execute commercial strategies according to plan, including developing KPI’s & reporting systems. 
  • Partners with USL Colleagues to identify, evaluate and select new programs for our branded and branded-generic pipeline. 
  • Identifies & partners with Patient Advocacy organizations that support USL brands. 
  • Partner with Sales Management to drive results. 
  • Direct activities and manage relationships with external partners and vendors. 
  • Partner with Medical Affairs Department to as needed to develop KOL relationships, med pub strategies & to ensure strategies are consistent with clinical guidelines. 
  • Manage expenses within approved budget. 
  • Participate on project teams, task forces and other relevant internal teams. 
  • Maintain knowledge of current pharmaceutical environment by reviewing literature, attending key conferences and developing relationships with key stakeholders.

Education:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Science, Communication, related field or equivalent. 
  • A Master's Degree is strongly preferred.

Experience:

  • A minimum of 10 years pharmaceutical marketing experience. 
  • Previous management experience strongly preferred. 
  • Demonstrated competence in product management including P&L responsibilities, analytical skills, strategic thinking, and pharmaceutical sales required. 
  • Successful track record of managing a product, marketing staff and advertising agencies. 
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills. 
  • Experience in short and long-range planning and writing business plans. 
  • Personal computer skills.
