Position Overview:

Packaging and presentation are paramount. The Junior Graphic Designer will report to the Design Director of Packaging and In-Store Merchandising and collaborate with the marketing team, as well as cross-functionally with PD&D and Sales, to contribute to the concept, design, and execution of packaging, visual merchandising fixtures, displays, and other creative assets. We are looking for an Adobe Photoshop/Illustrator expert who can visually bring ideas to life. You’re not just designing; you're evoking a feeling, a nod of approval from those who understand that excellence lies in the details. We stand out because our design screams quality louder than any Hüsker Dü concert, although we love those guys.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Design Director of Packaging and In-Store Merchandising and Creative Director to concept and design product packaging, packaging artwork, and visual merchandising displays based on creative briefs. 
  • Bring energy and breakthrough ideas to the Duke Cannon creative team, serving as a creative resource for the overall design process. 
  • Tools of the Trade: Mastery over the Adobe Creative Suite is non-negotiable. Be prepared to wield Illustrator and Photoshop. Ability to work in 3D is a plus! 
  • Adaptive Creativity: Flexibility in style and form to sail smoothly from traditionally rugged to modern minimalism, as the tides of design demand. 
  • Clear Communication: Boil down complex ideas into conversations as smooth as a fine whiskey – easily digested and leaving a warm, lasting impression.

Experience and Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of relevant experience as a Graphic Designer. 
  • Portfolio showcasing a range of relevant work that knocks our socks off, showcasing a range of projects especially in packaging and ISM. 
  • A burning desire to turn “good enough” into “can’t get any better.” 
  • Authentic passion for what we do and how we do it – creating products that stand the test of time and use. 
  • High proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator. 
  • Basic understanding of product packaging, artwork specifications, materials, and processes. 
  • Familiarity with design trends and best practices related to product, packaging, and display. 
  • Bonus: Experience with work in the personal care category
