Since our inception in 1986, we have coordinated donations that have saved the lives of more than 23,000 organ transplant recipients, and improved the lives of hundreds of thousands of tissue transplant recipients. As one of 58 organ procurement organizations that make up the nation’s organ donation system, we work with 183 hospitals in our donation service area.

Responsible for planning, developing and directly managing Gift of Hope’s marketing communications including campaigns, collateral, digital and projects that inform and engage external customers and stakeholders. This position may have responsibility for marketing and communications that advance engagement and support for philanthropic events and fundraising. Collaborates with leadership, internal stakeholders and external partners on marketing outreach and provides hands-on development and execution ensuring external marketing communications are effective, integrated and aligned; advance Gift of Hope’s reputation and brand; and achieve strategic and business goals.

Responsibilities:

The following essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Support Gift of Hope’s mission, vision and values; adhere to its policies and procedures in carrying out the responsibilities of this position. 
  • Work closely with teams across the organization to plan and implement dynamic, high-impact marketing campaigns, strategies and collateral for programs, events, education, training, business activities and outreach. Build and sustain strong, effective relationships with depth and understanding to assess needs. 
  • Intake requests, proactively identify opportunities, and apply best practices in developing and implementing activities that drive and support strategic and business goals and positively influence donation among diverse target audiences. Develop and deliver detailed project/work plans, schedules, budgets, evaluation and reporting for all activities. 
  • Manage all activities with internal and external stakeholders and external vendors to ensure activities and effective technologies are aligned and leveraged. Communicate and coordinate responsibilities, and manage project workflow, information and deadlines. Provide guidance, troubleshooting and support for peers and leadership to ensure outcomes and on-time, on-budget completion. 
  • Independently conceptualize, research, synthesize, write and edit content for either external marketing and/or fund-raising collateral, including brochures, emails, newsletters, advertising, web content, presentations, testimonials and other print and digital. Produce all marketing communications on regular schedules, on an ongoing basis and/or as needed. Ensure consistency, reliability, accuracy and timeliness of all external communications and information. 

Manage multimedia production including video and podcast projects. Review and support approved projects managed by other team members, departments or external partners, ensuring adherence to organizational standards and quality.

  • Guide email/digital marketing including emails, web-based event registration, visuals, data merges, lists and optimization. Craft effective content and ensure best practice in digital/email marketing and customer relationship management (CRM) use across multiple departments engaged in external e-marketing/communications. 
  • Develop and maintain databases and tracking tools; monitor and analyze effectiveness of programs; analyze trends; provide regular reports. 

Maintain current knowledge of industry trends and stay up to date with professional and technical knowledge in marketing, communications and customer experience technologies and practice.

  • Independently manage special projects as assigned. 
  • Assist other members of the Marketing & Communications team on communications initiatives as needed. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Experience and Skills Required:

The following indicates the minimum skills and experience required to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • 5 – 10 years’ experience in communications, marketing, or public relations, including integrated marketing program planning/implementation, preferably in a healthcare or non-profit environment 
  • Strong writing portfolio, including copywriting for multiple platforms and audiences and demonstrated ability to efficiently create high-impact content 
  • Demonstrated ability to independently and efficiently conceptualize, plan and lead effective marketing communications including visual and multimedia content with measurable impact and results 
  • Strong demonstrated expertise and track record of successful event marketing strategies and implementation 
  • Strong experience and applied knowledge of brand identity and principles 
  • Adept with multiple marketing, communications, and digital software, platforms and analytics, as well as asset and content management; familiarity with Wordpress or other content management systems (CMS), with applied understanding of brand and user experience/user interface (UX/UI) principles 
  • Knowledge and experience working with webinar/video conferencing technology and platforms 
  • Basic design/layout, video and photo editing skills; familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite strongly preferred 
  • Strong critical thinking and ability to analyze, resolve problems and develop solutions 
  • Ability to think strategically in program planning and development 
  • Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships and work effectively with peers, teams, other departments, leadership and external partners to achieve organizational goals 
  • Ability to communicate succinctly and persuasively in oral and written communications 
  • Ability to represent Gift of Hope in a professional manner 
  • Ability to speak publicly before a wide variety of audiences to motivate and inspire others

The salary range for this position is: $65,331 to $73,497.
