Overview:

The Marketing and Public Relations Specialist 3 takes on a more strategic and senior role, working with minimal direction and contributing to higher-level decision-making. Creates, plans, executes, and evaluates internal and external marketing, communications and public relations plans, that build the Mercyhealth brand and drive market share. This position supports the overall efforts of Mercyhealth’s Marketing and Public Relations Department

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies for specified service lines that align with organization goals. 
  • Use data and analytics develop campaigns that achieve marketing objectives and adjust accordingly. 
  • Utilize analytics and data to measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, deriving actionable insights. 
  • Develop media schedules and ensure that all marketing activities are on schedule 
  • Coordinate with web, social/digital, graphics and media team members to maintain integrity and consistency of campaigns, and ensure strategies are meeting objectives. 
  • Coordinate production of promotional collateral with assigned service lines ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and meet brand standards. 
  • Analyze market trends, consumer behavior, and competitive landscapes to identify opportunities and threats for service lines. 
  • Obtain quotes and place orders with outside print vendors 
  • Plan and execute events promoting service lines. 
  • Coordinate materials for Mercyhealth and community-partnered events 
  • Responsible for overseeing projects assigned to the marketing interns 
  • Mentor and guide level 1 and 2 marketing and public relations specialists, providing feedback and fostering their growth 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to enhance marketing efforts. 
  • Attend virtual or in-person marketing related conferences 
  • Member of the crisis communication team and able to step into key positions if needed

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Three years’ experience as Marketing Specialist 2 with Mercyhealth; or master’s degree and one year as a Marketing Specialist 2; or ten or more years’ experience in marketing or public relations-related field. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, journalism, communication (or related field). 
  • Extensive experience in marketing, market research, data collection/analysis 
  • Experience in project management, social media and health care preferred

CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE:

One of the following as decided on with director:

  • WHPRMS Certified member, SHSMD Advance Credentialing, or other marketing specialized certification with prior approval (or must be obtained within 12 months of hire)

FEMA Certification

  • FEMA IS-200 Appling ICS to Health Care certification (or complete within 12 months of hire)
  • FEMA IS-800 National Response Network certification (or complete within 12 months of hire)

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Passing the Driver’s License Check and/or Credit Check (for those positions requiring) 
  • Passing the WI Caregiver Background Check and/or Illinois Health Care Workers Background Check 
  • Must be able to follow written/oral instructions.
