Position Overview:

The Screening Communications Senior Manager will develop and execute the public/media relations and communications strategic plans for the Exact Sciences Screening Business Unit (SBU).This role will maximize the impact and reach of Exact Sciences externally focused content and expand media awareness and coverage of the SBU, its portfolio of on-market screening tests, pipeline, leaders and overall efforts. The Sr. Manager should have experience working with and understanding clinical trial data sets, scientific key opinion leaders, advocacy groups, and medical societies. Additionally, the ideal candidate will have the ability to translate novel, complex health care technologies into terms easily understood by members of the media and targeted audiences. This position is primarily (70%) focused on external audiences, specifically all areas of media, however the role also encompasses close coordination with internal and executive communication functions (30%) within Exact Sciences.

Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and execute public affairs campaigns that are aligned with business objectives to drive awareness of the SBU among an evolving landscape of key audiences. 
  • Collaborate closely with the marketing team to support its vision and goals for the Exact Sciences SBU and reinforce those brand positions across a variety of communications channels. 
  • Develop plans to publicize and communicate trial and study data published via abstracts, peer reviewed journals or press releases/media outreach. 
  • Serve as spokesperson for the SBU and Exact Sciences. 
  • Partner with the Advocacy and Alliance Relations to activate key advocacy groups to support communications around major announcements. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong public presence.

  • Support and comply with the company’s Quality Management System policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance. 
  • Ability to act with an inclusion mindset and model these behaviors for the organization. 
  • Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as needed. 
  • Ability to travel 15% of working time away from work location, may include overnight/weekend travel. 
  • Adaptable, open to change and able to work in ambiguous situations and respond to new information and unexpected circumstances. 
  • Demonstrate effective project management abilities; willingness to manage several projects simultaneously.

  • Ability to work designated schedule.

  • Ability and means to travel between Madison locations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, public relations or related field. 
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in a communications role. 
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without accommodation. 
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Salary Range: $174,000.00 - $277,000.00

The annual base salary shown is for this position located in US - WI - Madison on a full-time basis. In addition, this position is bonus eligible, and is eligible to receive company stock upon hire as well as annually.
