Position Details:

The Senior Manager of Creative Marketing Strategy drives the vision of the overall look and feel of Grainger’s customer-facing marketing efforts. The leader will be responsible for activating customer objectives through emotionally relevant marketing creative that is on brand, error-free and high performing. You will be enabling and empowering all aspects of the creative team – Design, Copy, Editorial, Video. They are responsible for the oversight of multiple integrated campaigns across a variety of channels (Mass Media, Digital, Offline) and ensuring the most effective creative is in market.

You Will:

  • Creates overall creative vision providing more guidance and cultivating a team that is motivated by our Grainger customers and continuous improvement 
  • Leads the overarching in-house creative team – Design, Copy, Editorial, Video and oversight of day-to-day work 
  • Elevate the work through strategic thinking and an ability to translate data into powerful audience-led creative experiences 
  • Consistently inspire and cultivate the development of strong creative strategic ideas
  • Start to build relationships with day-to-day marketing and CSM and Grainger leaders 
  • Foster and enforce an environment of efficient, error-free work across the team 
  • Understand the financial component of our business and be able to articulate business rationale for key objectives

You will report to the Director of Brand, Creative and GCAN Marketing.

You Have:

  • 10+ years professional experience with 7-10 years managerial experience leading a team of graphic design, copy, web design, photography, images and videography. 
  • BA/BS/BFA required (MA a plus) in advertising, marketing, communications, or design-related field 
  • Demonstrated success in a large multi-channel organization and/or agency 
  • Thorough knowledge of Adobe Systems and Creative Suite–(AEM, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, etc.)
  • Working knowledge of CMS, email development, HTML and CSS
  • Understanding of business-to-business marketing methods
  • Comprehensive marketing copy and design skills for direct response print and digital (email, catalog, direct response, publication, video and web site production), media and events (i.e. tradeshows)
