Broadcast Buyer

Colle McVoy is looking for a broadcast buyer (TV/video, radio/audio) who is able manage all aspects of national and local negotiation and investment stewardship while being part of a holistic media team. You are expected to be a broadcast market specialist and maintain a professional relationship with media partner representatives.

While broadcast buying is the core responsibility, we are seeking someone who is curious about media, passionate about the evolving data-led, advanced targeting video/audio landscape, understands that “people are people” (not just standard demos) and thrives on collaboration with media strategy/planning teams to uncover and create new, bespoke opportunities for our clients. Bottom-line, we’re looking for an up-and-coming negotiation rock-star who is detail-oriented/organized/accountable, positive and thrives in our creative media culture.


  • Has an understanding of client businesses and agency process 
  • Negotiate and steward assigned client broadcast (video/audio) buys 
  • Develop a respected relationship and help train assistants on broadcast basics as needed 
  • Master use and application of industry research, software and systems, and agency resources 
  • Master buying and monitoring skillset to insure maximum value and no errors 
  • Develop strong relationships with sales representatives and internal agency departments 
  • Deliver POVs relevant to client issues and possible opportunities 
  • Organize and run the day to day business on small accounts, including client meetings, documents, and organizing other buyers on business 
  • Investigate media opportunities as they relate to client businesses and/or agency businesses 
  • Report to the Director of Broadcast Investment and accountable to media strategy teams and the Executive Director of Media


  • Passion for advertising, TV/video landscape and emerging video/audio technologies with a strong desire to be an active contributor to both strategic and creative discussions 
  • Thrives on efficiency and organization 
  • Ability to translate production and technical jargon into layperson’s terms 
  • Excels in problem solving and collaboration with internal teams and clients 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Experience with Strata preferred


  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience 
  • 1 or more years in local & national TV/video and radio/audio media buying 
  • Digital video, cross-screen and digital audio experience a plus 
  • Proficiency in media-related and other basic software packages 
  • Ability to travel as needed
