Job Summary:

The person hired for the position of Communications Manager will provide leadership and strategic direction for Organizational Change strategies and plans that drive change adoption of our transformation efforts. This position provides opportunities to demonstrate professionalism and expertise to impact the customer and deliver 3M results. This role makes a difference!

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • Sets and drives communications strategy across the global Organizational Change Management group including goals, stakeholder analysis, target audience segmentation, program branding, and communication tactics 
  • Provide global leadership for OCM Communications 
  • Work with several stakeholders in the company, including Training, Change Leaders, Global Process Owners, businesses and BT Organization to deliver clear communication strategy to targeted audiences 
  • Plan, develop, execute and measure global integrated communications strategies, plans, programs, campaigns and messaging to drive business growth and protect and enhance reputation 
  • Develop measurement techniques to assess results of programs and adjust plans as needed 
  • Partners cross-functionally with 3M Communications to ensure alignment to corporate and business brand strategy and identity and program communication execution 
  • Recommends and manages project plans with external agency/vendor partners for delivery of select marketing or communication tactics. Manage external creative resources. 
  • Establish and manage communications budget, monitoring and adjusting plans as needed

Basic Qualifications:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution 
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in Communications in a private, public, government,or military environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strategic Thinker, yet able to execute plans in an agile manner
  • Strong collaboration and team management skills
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and risk taking 
  • Experience working in a matrixed organization 
  • Ability to make strong business cases that lead to management support for programs 
  • Experience in B2B communications Cross-functional team experience
