We’re looking for an enthusiastic and results-driven corporate communications specialist to join our global Communications Center of Excellence (CCoE). The specialist will help our team implement strategic communication programs that enhance the company’s reputation with all stakeholders and help drive business objectives. We are looking for a compelling storyteller who can craft effective communications, deliver impactful messaging and contribute across all practices within the function (internal and external).

This position plays a key role in supporting the CCoE in delivering the overall communications strategy for CDK. This position will help create CDK brand ambassadors and support change management initiatives, internally, while also helping to build and cultivate relationships with industry influencers and help establish a global social presence that supports business priorities. The communications specialist will also play a critical role in leveraging the results generated externally to our internal stakeholders to help strengthen CDK Global employee engagement through the creation, execution, and measurement of strategic employee communications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Draft and edit communications for multiple audiences including emails, web content, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations, and more 
  • Test and optimize internal channels to improve employee experience through communication. Projects include: a significant rebuild of our employee portal, development of video and podcasts as dynamic content, crafting compelling social media messages to drive engagement and advocacy, support of global meetings, and introduction and evaluation of potential new technology (employee app) 
  • Proactively compose and edit press releases, pitches or media alerts on a variety of topics 
  • Monitor media and social media feeds for industry and company-related news, posts and engagement opportunities 
  • Analyze data, compile metrics and report results quarterly and as needed 
  • Support thought leadership initiatives – from content development to platform amplification 
  • Interface with, and provide communications support to, various groups including Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Marketing, Finance, Product, R&D, and Leadership 
  • Work alongside internal and external agency partners and internal Creative team members to ensure brand consistency across all content 
  • Lend support to crisis communications, M&A and other global initiatives as needed 
  • Support other related communications projects as appropriate

Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree, plus 2-4 years of business communications, public relations, internal communications or integrated marketing communications experience 
  • Prior corporate, public relations or business communications agency experience preferred 
  • Passion and spark for helping to create a winning CDK culture! 
  • Exceptional verbal communications, writing (AP Style), interviewing and editing skills 
  • Strong planning, project management and collaboration skills for a variety of audiences 
  • Experience in communicating to large, global, dispersed organization 
  • Knowledge of varied communication delivery vehicles to reach both internal and external stakeholders, including social tools and platforms and content management systems (CMS) 
  • Positive, driven and energetic team player; able to roll-up his/her sleeves to get the job done. 
  • Enthusiastic and experienced champion of people-related processes – goal setting, performance management, personal/professional development and succession planning 
  • Proven ability to clearly and succinctly develop communications that will resonate with all stakeholders; leaders, employees, influencers.
  • Business acumen a plus 
  • Proven ability to drive change in an organization to achieve business results
