WHEDA is seeking a Creative Services Coordinator to join the Marketing and Communications Group! This exciting position is responsible for providing art direction, brand management, creative concepting, design work and production for all WHEDA marketing and communication pieces.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Coordinates and oversees production of all print and digital materials for use by WHEDA’s business units. Includes: staying within budget, negotiating with vendors, managing contracts, and maintaining efficiencies of scale with regards to print and digital materials Authority-wide; 
  • Development and design of all paid advertisements for use by business units. Includes responding to design requests, applying brand standards, meeting customer time lines and adhering to WHEDA’s budget and finance policies; 
  • Fulfills the system administration duties for WHEDA Media, the Authority’s digital asset management system. Includes oversight of the software, applying best industry practices to the database management of WHEDA’s digital assets, trains power users on the software, maintains relationship with software vendor and provides the overall direction and management of meta data for digital assets and collections; 
  • Provides support and back-up for the Web Designer and Marketing Specialist. Includes: providing content for the corporate website and social media outlets such as copy, photography, page layout, design or other graphic production as needed; 
  • Contributes to design related activities. Includes oversight of WHEDA’s corporate identity, development of design solutions from concept to completion, providing art direction to outside vendors such as photographers, videographers, media outlets, printers and ad agencies; 
  • Participates in internal and business development initiatives; 
  • Provides design best industry practices and expertise in creating corporate presentations, training materials, signage, promotional displays, etc.;
  • Manages design and production of all promotional, signage and communications for WHEDA conferences and events. Includes working as a liaison with business units to isolate, research and develop budget, project timelines event themes, and promotional content; 
  • Maintains confidentiality as it pertains to customer information and any other information obtained in your role as a WHEDA employee.

TRAINING, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Candidate will possess an Associate Degree in Communication Design, Graphic Design, or Graphic Art and 4+ years of progressively responsible experience related to the area of assignment, or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge required for this position includes:

  • Knowledge of developments in IT, particularly design programs; 
  • Knowledge of graphic design, branding and marketing principles; 
  • Knowledge of best industry practices for photography, videography and social media; 
  • Knowledge and demonstrated proficiency in InDesign, Adobe, PhotoShop and other design programs; 
  • Knowledge and demonstration of proficiency with Digital Asset Management Systems; 
  • Knowledge and proficiency in HTML, Web Content Management Systems, Flash and other similar programs. 

Skills required for this position include:

  • Ability to generate designs from creation to completion for print and digital outputs; 
  • Manage tight deadlines and multiple projects simultaneously; 
  • Manage vendor relations, production timelines, press checks, etc.; 
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills; 
  • Using a computer and related software applications; 
  • Identifying and resolving problems; 
  • Detail-oriented with a high proficiency for quality control; 
  • Collecting, analyzing, summarizing, and comprehending financial data and information; 
  • Conducting negotiations and managing contracts.
