The Opportunity:

Directs the development, execution, and analysis of the organization’s paid digital media strategy to grow and retain the core donor base needed to meet long-term revenue objectives, with focus to develop new, untapped universes of donors acquired via digital channels.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead development and execution of digital media strategy to both acquire, retain, upgrade and steward donors to support the organization, and develop a pipeline of future supporters to fuel accelerated revenue growth to support the organization’s operating budget.
  • Develop comprehensive revenue target for digital media and 3rdparty platforms with detailed forecast, defined measurement plan.
  • Direct paid digital media strategy to drive new donor and lead acquisition and sustain existing donor relationships. Media channels include, but not limited to, search engine marketing (SEM), online display and remarketing ads, loyalty programs, 3rd party platforms, mobile. Identify optimal acquisition channel mix ensuring strong balance of upfront and long-term value of new donors. 
  • Direct strategy and roadmap for organization's 3rd Party Platform efforts (Facebook, PayPal, eBay, and other new and emerging platforms), including development of KPIs, evaluation framework, and plan to operationalize. 
  • Develop and manage departmental expense budget, in coordination with departmental leadership, to support needs for digital media, digital production and measurement. 
  • Evaluate media performance on up front and long-term value criteria to ensure optimal investment to meet organizational growth strategy now and into the future. 
  • Manage direct report(s) focusing on goal setting and accountability to achieve desired outcomes. 
  • Collaborate closely with departmental leadership to ensure cohesive execution of MarCom strategy; providing support and guidance to team to cultivate talent. 
  • Collaborate closely with DM+Digital leadership and agency partners to integrate marketing and fundraising campaigns across all channels, including direct mail, telephone, social media, etc. 
  • Manage and build digital agency relationships for productivity and stewarding financial resources efficiently including primary oversight of digital media agencies. 
  • Assume organizational lead role to maintain FeedingAmerica.org privacy policy; monitoring and advising on privacy legislation and best practices for direct marketing and digital engagement programs. 
  • Lead process to coordinate with cross-departmental stakeholders (communications, legal, etc.). 
  • Direct consumer-facing digital media priorities for the organization to align within executive decision-making. 
  • Identify and asses emerging digital and media trends and opportunities to reach new and existing donor audiences.

Requirements:

  • Cover letter with resume required. 
  • BA/BS or equivalent experience. 
  • 10+ years of progressive digital marketing and fundraising experience; including experience managing staff, agencies and budgets. 
  • Significant experience in conversion-based digital media and planning with ability to define web development and technical requirements, lead/donor conversion strategy and social media advertising and execution. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Superior data interpretation and analytic skills related to digital and direct marketing, with string understanding of the role of analytic tools in driving performance optimization. 
  • Ability to analyze program effectiveness to distill insights and drive measureable results. 
  • Experience with web content management and fundraising systems, Drupal, Blackbaud Luminate, a plus. 
  • Proven ability to manage high performing teams. 
  • Innovative, growth mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities and a comfort and passion in learning new skills. 
  • Non-profit experience OR experience marketing an intangible preferred.
