Food Concepts Inc. is looking for a Graphic Designer to work within our Design Department to provide best-in-class design solutions for the food service industry or FCI internally. Our client portfolio extends to Retailers, Food Manufacturing Clients, and Proprietary Brand Clients on the regional & national level.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Design: Develops specifications for graphics-related items. Develops copy from scratch or from rough drafts. Utilizes graphic design technology and computer software to develop concepts, logo designs and merchandising layout. Creates assembly guides, renderings, page layouts, etc. Plans content, graphics aspects and presentation of material, products and packages. Creates initial design concepts and reviews them with manager/client. Incorporates feedback and revises initial design ideas. Ensures that renderings are accurate for engineering and visual purposes. Approves color on proofs. Helps to re-enforce internal design and manufacturing standards and any customer brand standards or trademark guidelines.
  2. Mentorship: Has experience mentoring and lead other designers.
  3. Develop Job Aids & Instruction Guides: Develops copy, layout, typesetting, proofreading and photo adjustment of instructional materials.
  4. File set-up: Displays final drawing and converts the file into a suitable format for review and production usage. Submits final artwork to production.
  5. Graphics Production: Assists in the finishing of produced graphics. Vinyl application, trimming and laminating as required.
  6. Records/File Maintenance: Saves, files and organizes art files and support files for efficient retrieval and future use.
  1. Education: Associates degree in Commercial Art, Graphics Design or related.
  2. Experience: Advanced knowledge of materials, production and assembly methods obtained in four years or more working in graphics design. Understands different printing methods and their appropriateness for various types of projects.
  3. Computer/Software and Office Equipment Skills: Highly skilled in use of Mac OS operating environment, graphics software including Adobe InDesign, PhotoShop, Illustrator and Acrobat.Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Docs and Sheets, Safari and Chrome web browsers. SketchUp experience preferred but not required.
  4. Personal Attributes Required: Must have effective interaction and collaborative skills.Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and ability to establish and maintain effective customer, visitor and vendor relationships by using well-developed and appropriate interpersonal skills.
  5. Qualified applicants must take direction well, as they will be working with an Account Manager to quickly develop design and/or e-commerce site solutions. Will also work directly with our web developer/liaison for general maintenance and upkeep of e-commerce sites.
  6. Essential Physical/Mental Requirements:
  • Must be able to sit for periods of extended times throughout the day.
  • Most of the work is performed in an office setting.  Position does occatinally interact with manufacturing personnel in the produciton areas and can be exposed to noise and fume.
  • Must have good time management skills.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to think creatively and is comfortable creating ideas from abstract concepts.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively on the telephone and in person with individuals to provide and gather information.
  • Must have the ability to maintain concentration and focus on tasks requiring timeliness and accuracy.
  • Must be willing to work on a variety of fast paced projects with a great company and fun team!

Compensation: $15.00 - $24.00/hour to be determined based on education and experience.
