The Internal Communications intern will join a team that plays a key role in driving connectivity across Värde’s global employee base. This role will provide lift for the team, particularly in the areas of content production/editing (video and written) and creative idea generation for the firm’s intranet, Answers. The Internal Communications intern will work 10-15 hours per week throughout the summer and school year. The position pays $22/hour. Hours are flexible and may be completed outside of traditional business hours.

Opportunity:

  • Provide creative, administrative and project support to Värde’s Internal Communications team 
  • Work for a global organization that values internal communication as a means for ensuring employee engagement and connectivity 
  • Work closely with a small team of communication professionals to create compelling stories and videos that bring our work to life 
  • Help generate content and ideas to keep our firmwide intranet relevant, interesting and fun

Summary of Responsibilities:

Content Editing and Creation

  • Work with the Internal Communications team and Värde employees around the world to create digital content (videos) that will be posted to our firmwide intranet in an effort to share information, train on various topics, and tell uplifting stories 
  • Work with various teams to generate ideas for stories and videos, including creation of scripts and storylines; assist with creation and editing of video footage 
  • Provide support and assistance with editing of video content created by other team members

Engagement

  • Assess and maximize engagement across global talent base; identify ways to proactively engage employees via content posted on the company’s intranet 
  • Assist with creation and dissemination of pulse surveys 
  • Assist in development and execution of overall internal communications strategy
  • Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in communications, media/cinema, videography or related field; minimum overall GPA of 3.25 
  • Strong videography skills 
  • Detail oriented with strong creative skills. Ability to think big picture while still operating in detail-oriented environment 
  • Must be able to dedicate 10-15 hours/week toward the internship 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills 
  • Exceptional attention to detail in composing and proofing materials 
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills 
  • Ability to learn new software programs 
  • Ability to solve problems with a positive attitude 
  • Ability to work independently and on tight deadlines 
  • Able to sit and/or stand at a desk and use a computer for extended periods of time 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint 
  • Personal characteristics of self-confidence, resourcefulness, self-motivation, discipline, detail orientation and ability to assume responsibility for decisions and the ability to deal effectively with people in a variety of relationships and situations 
  • The successful applicant for this position must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
