Position Overview:

We’re excited to add an experienced communicator to our team to help build Baxter's reputation among key stakeholders in the U.S. Work alongside our team and our U.S. commercial organization to tell our story in new, innovative ways through traditional and social media, and owned channels. You’ll have the autonomy to implement your ideas, from start to finish. Responsible for both product and therapy promotion, internal communications, patient advocacy campaigns, and broader, proactive initiatives in the U.S.

Critical Responsibilities:

  • Execute communications plans for the U.S. market to promote our product innovations (launches, regulatory milestones, etc.), medical congresses, patient education and disease awareness campaigns, and content that speaks to trends in the U.S. healthcare system. 
  • Build and manage strong relationships with marketing teams to help implement communications initiatives. 
  • Assist with media relations, especially trade media that cover the healthcare system. Individual will be responsible for pitching and securing media placements and creating key messages and other materials to assist in our response to inquiries from journalists. Individual will develop press releases to promote key milestones and events. 
  • Work with our team to develop dynamic content for Baxter's social media channels and .com sites, in alignment with our overall content strategy. Act as a conduit between our digital team and the U.S. marketing teams to ensure that content we develop is in line with our business strategy. 
  • Support U.S. commercial campaigns on social media, as needed. 
  • Develop internal communications materials, including content for town halls and emails, to help drive engagement and keep employees informed. 
  • Develop integrated messages for internal and external audiences aligned to corporate, brand, product and therapy messaging. Understand Baxter's brand guidelines and support internal stakeholder education and alignment. 
  • Create Q&A and media statements, among other materials, on a wide range of topics and issues, including research, drafting and editing.

Key Experiences, Attributes & Education:

  • Demonstrated experience working with marketing team and other stakeholders to create effective messages that effectively engage stakeholders. 
  • Experience managing product-related issues, especially in a highly-regulated environment. 
  • Strong and versatile writing skills for a variety of content types, channels and topics. Experience writing for the web and social media. 
  • Strong project management, time management and organizational skills. 
  • Proven ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders and develop strong relationships to ensure success. 
  • Highly motivated, with ability to make decisions independently. 
  • Flexible and agile, with the ability to quickly change course when need arises. 
  • Bachelor's degree required in English, marketing, journalism, public relations, advertising, or transferrable area. A minimum of 6 years of experience in corporate communications or public relations. Pharma, med tech or healthcare industry and agency experience desired.
