Primary responsibility is to develop, research, edit and write print as well as digital content. Production responsibilities include managing production workflow for two ag equipment titles. Travel to industry meetings and equipment shows, and to conduct interviews with various businesses.

Seeking Managing Editor with 3-5 years of business journalism experience to contribute to print and digital content for growing ag equipment properties.

Proficiency at covering equipment industry trends from the retail sales perspective. Must be comfortable and effective producing content with the unique requirements for both print and web properties. Must be able to take key points and expand on the concepts to deliver practical business ideas for the readership.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to assess the equipment industry for opportunities to add perspective, analysis and context that will engage and educate readership.

Must be able to communicate ideas and concepts and meet deadlines consistently. Instinct for asking the right questions to educate and inform readers and provide them with subject areas that have value to their business a must.

This is a perfect position for the candidate that is looking to become a figurehead in a growing industry.

Requirements:

  • College degree in journalism or related field.
  • Strong understanding of professional publishing business, developed through at least 3-5 years experience in the industry.
  • Agricultural background a plus.
  • Stellar grammar and spelling skills.
  • Strong writer.
  • Experienced with social networking and its importance in today’s media.
  • Digital video experience a plus.
  • Ability to manage production flow with the Art Department.
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and able to consistently meet deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required, both written and oral.
  • Fast learner, extremely meticulous, independent and self-directed.
  • Must be detail-oriented and able to multi-task and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Moderate travel required.
