The Marketing & Communications Specialist will serve an important role in effectively and efficiently engaging and promoting the image, values and reputation of the Corporation. The role will actively create, develop, execute and deliver multiple communications programs to help convey a positive and consistent message to all of the key audiences served through this function. This position will be located at Dover’s headquarters in Downers Grove, IL.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and interface daily with Dover Operating Company representatives to exchange the information and materials necessary to fully support and facilitate the daily communications activities throughout the Company, and to reach all the internal and external audiences served through this function. 
  • Manage the Company-wide press release process to amplify Operating Company information via PR Newswire and across Dover’s various platforms. This includes maintaining the SharePoint platform for uploading, tracking and scheduling releases. 
  • Lead the extensive culmination of OpCo news and information in order to create and populate content for the Dover website, as well as making sure the layout and all information is up-to-date, relevant and easy to navigate for visitors. This includes the physical posting of the information on the website via the CMS (content management system). 
  • Manage and populate the Corporate social media accounts by curating content, obtaining necessary approvals, maintaining a schedule, and executing posts. 
  • Maintain the Dover Intranet including announcements, photos, templates and other key resources for employees across Dover. 
  • Assist in the formulation of numerous communications-related content and materials in various formats, including video, along with participating in marketing activities surrounding the positioning of Dover and its companies. This includes maintaining the Dover brand guide and creating various design and marketing elements for Dover. 
  • Orchestrate annual Company Review production by developing and editing content, as well as making the final version available on the Dover website. 
  • Serve as a resource for all communications and marketing information for internal teams in the Dover Corporate office and provide guidance for various projects that touch different areas across Dover, such as trainings and materials. 
  • Help identify and execute ways to optimize the impact of the Corporate Communications function with Dover’s businesses. This includes the planning and executing quarterly (or more frequent) Webinars which cover vital and valuable information from Corporate, as well as developmental topics for Operating Company business, communications and marketing initiatives. 
  • Proactively communicate across departments and functions throughout the Dover Corporate office to create, manage and execute multiple programs, messages and events/activities. 
  • Play an important role in the Company’s philanthropic initiatives by supporting many of the programs of the Dover Foundation including, the Dover Foundation Sons & Daughters Scholarship Program, Operating Company grants and the employee matching gift program. Work closely with Dover’s Operating Companies to help position and support their philanthropic initiatives to foster community relations with respect to the involvement of the Dover Foundation. In addition, the role will assist in the maintenance of the financial records of the Dover Foundation. 
  • Actively participate in the creation of various executive presentations, programs and letters, both internal and external. 
  • Regularly interact with and help manage multiple external communications, marketing agency and professional services vendor relationships. 
  • Help to oversee and manage the Company’s multiple sponsorships, partnerships and affiliations throughout the Chicagoland area. 
  • Handle travel plans, meeting invites and expense reporting for the Vice President of Communications.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4-6 years of relevant marketing and/or communications experience 
  • Associate degree or BA/BS from an accredited 4-year undergraduate institution preferred 
  • Agency background a plus 
  • Possess exceptional oral, written and interpersonal skills 
  • Reliable, punctual, and precise work style with excellent customer service skills 
  • High personal ethical standards and strong sense of responsibility 
  • Professional demeanor, positive attitude, enthusiastic, pro-active and willing to learn 
  • Well organized with strong time management skills; ability to prioritize and meet deadlines; ability to effectively communicate work load and work flow 
  • Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite; Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) experience desirable 
  • Flexible and have the ability to travel on occasion
