The Marketing & Communications Specialist researches, plans, develops and implements strategic communications for Journey Mental Health Center that enhance the organization's relations with consumers, employees, donors and our community. This position works independently, but works closely with and provides strategic counsel to leadership to support internal messaging as well as outreach efforts for programs and services. The position supports donor relations with communications plans for solicitation and stewardship. The position leads the development of internal external communication strategies to achieve business objectives and build understanding of the organization’s mission, vision and values.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops annual marketing plans that support business development goals. 
  • Creates internal/external digital and printed materials to support Journey programs as well as fund development and donor relations, including but not limited to the annual report and newsletter(s). 
  • Collaborates with leadership to disseminate internal communications including e-news, all-staff meetings, and other organization updates and announcements. 
  • Manages social media platforms and external digital communications on behalf of Journey, analyzes results, and recommends changes accordingly. 
  • Monitors and manages content on external website to promote and inform a wide range of audiences of Journey’s programs and services. 
  • Acts as primary point of contact for marketing needs of staff for promotion of events, programs, displays, etc. 
  • Serves as primary contact for media inquiries and collaborates with Journey staff to support media relations. 
  • Supports organizational outreach efforts by attending and exhibiting at community events and conferences. 
  • Manages photo library for Journey promotions/archive. 
  • Manages marketing budget for supplies, software, swag, and printed materials.

Education and Experience:

ESSENTIAL:

Education/Licensure

  • Minimum of 3 years working in Marketing. 
  • Experience working in human service/nonprofit/healthcare fields is a plus. 
  • Experience developing and implementing robust and strategic marketing and communications plans to reach business objectives. 
  • Excellent written communication skills, including editing and proofing. 
  • Experience with website content management systems. 
  • Experience managing content for multiple digital communications channels and social media platforms. 
  • Ability to incorporate storytelling into communications across multiple channels. 
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products. 
  • Ability to work and communicate with people with a wide range of backgrounds and identities. 
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license, a favorable driving record, adequate insurance (per state law), and access to a vehicle.

PREFERRED:

  • Experience developing and implementing organizational branding and style guides.
  • Experience using a CRM system to produce and analyze reports. 
  • Expereince in graphic design and video editing. 
  • Experience using Salsa, Canva, Webflow and/or Wordpress. 
  • Fluency in Spanish or another language.
