Function:

Create and coordinate implementation of marketing plans, including maintaining budgets, tracking expenditures, collaborating on creative work, writing/editing text, and supporting events. Track results of strategies/tactics to measure success and suggest improvements.

Essential Responsibilities:

1. Serve as main point of contact and marketing communications advisor for internal clients and at the institutional level.

2. Research and develop marketing communications strategies at the department, division, and event level, making certain they integrate fully with institutional marketing strategy; create institutional-level marketing communications strategies.

3. Devise mix of tactics and write marketing plans to support plan's strategies.

4. Write key messages that support overarching strategies and copy that supports key messages in multiple media.

5. Project-manage the execution of all tactics resulting from numerous plans through different states of development, collaborating with full marketing communications team.

6. Measure and evaluate the success of tactics and plans.

7. Contribute to the continual improvement processes/best practices of the department.

8. Participate on crisis communications team.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

2. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university.

2. Five years' experience in marketing or communications field.

3. Experience writing copy for marketing and communications pieces (Web, Print ads, radio ads, press releases, postcards, letters, speeches, brochures and catalogs, etc.).

4. Knowledge of print, graphic design, photo and video production processes.

5. Proficiency in the use of the Microsoft Office suite of software programs.

6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

7. Ability to work a flexible schedule which includes days/evenings/weekends as needed by the department.

Desired Qualifications:

1. Market research experience preferred.
