Marketing Specialist - Purina® Horse Business

We are looking for somebody who has passion for and experience in the equine industry. In this role you will help develop strategy and lead marketing efforts for the Purina® Horse feed and supplements business. The objectives are to partner with a cross-functional team to deliver superior financial growth, bring new products to market, foster industry partnerships, maintain competitive advantage, grow share and provide continual leadership towards the long-term strength of Purina® Horse business.

This is a continuity role for 3+ years with the possibility of advancement and experience in one of Land O’Lakes’ other business units if desired.

Competencies-Skills (Required):

  • Experience in/knowledge of and passion for the equine industry 
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written skills 
  • Strategic thinking, effective analytical, critical thinking and quantitative problem-solving abilities 
  • Ability to lead cross-functional team to deliver results in a positive manner 
  • Self-motivated and able to own projects and to execute with focus and accountability 
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Competencies-Skills (Preferred):

  • B2B and B2C experience 
  • Familiarity with StageGate / New Product Development process 
  • Experience with brand and product marketing and business management, including annual/long-range planning, pricing/profit analysis, and execution of national/regional consumer and trade programs

Education:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • MBA preferred. Educational assistance available to complete MBA.

Travel required up to 20%
