The National Meetings & Events Senior Associate will be responsible for supporting the National Events team to source, plan and execute internal training and events for our Learning and Professional Development department. Professional should be experienced, self-motivated and capable of coordinating meeting/event logistics and administration in a fast paced environment. The National events senior associate should have a love for meeting/event management, including communications, provide outstanding customer service, and be an enthusiastic professional.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Assist with planning of all event aspects including, but not limited to: communications, sourcing, food and beverage, audiovisual equipment, entertainment, travel arrangements, event signs/graphic needs, and décor. 
  • Assist with managing on-site execution of events as necessary. 
  • Conduct research and find resources to help staff make decisions about event possibilities. 
  • Assist with tracking event finances including check requests, invoicing, and reporting. 
  • Assist with close out/reconciliation of all events. 
  • Other duties as assigned

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required 
  • Certified Meeting Professional Certification helpful but not required with appropriate experience and skill set.

TECHNICAL SKILLS:

  • Proficient skill level in Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook Required. 
  • Cvent experience is helpful but not required.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience with hotel on-site coordination for conferences or events. 
  • Ability to work on multiple projects effectively under time constraints and deadlines.

LEADERSHIP SKILLS:

  • Attention to detail with superior customer service and high expectations for quality. 
  • Professional, pleasant demeanor and ability to build and maintain relationships with colleagues and vendors. 
  • Excellent communication skills, including written and oral and strong proof reading skills.
