UW-Milwaukee’s Division of University Relations & Communications is hiring a Marketing Specialist for UWM’s College of General Studies, which is the academic unit for UWM’s Waukesha and Washington County campuses.

This position will be responsible for a wide array of duties to include:

  • Creating and implementing a proactive marketing and communications strategy to advance the brand. 
  • Supporting recruitment and growing enrollment at UWM’s Waukesha and Washington County campuses. 
  • Strategic planning, project management, writing, web updates, community outreach
  • Collaboration with faculty members, college administrators and peers in integrated marketing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications or related field.
  • At least 2 years of progressively responsible experience/growth in marketing, communications, public relations and/or journalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and successfully execute projects that involve multiple team members and stakeholders (i.e., organizing work, communicating with peers, driving deadlines, etc.) 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strategic marketing plans to achieve organizational goals. 
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines. 
  • Demonstrated ability to create and manage budgets. 
  • Demonstrated excellence in writing. 
  • Experience in community outreach and/or building strategic relationships.
  • Experience working with Wordpress or a similar content management system to update websites. 
  • Experience working with HTML email systems (such as Emma, Constant Contact, etc.).
