Core is seeking a full-time Production Artist who is experienced in advertising art production, with in-depth knowledge of printing techniques and requirements, and is able to use current software programs to create digital artwork that meets pre-press standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Produces all artwork according to art director’s/designer’s specifications; works with assigned art director/designer to achieve desired results.
  • Advises creative on best way to achieve approved concept via computer layout/illustration/pre-press technique.
  • Generates proofs for review by creative director, assigned art director, account service personnel, proofreader/copywriter or client.
  • Generates final production layouts prior to release
  • Confirms all production deadlines with account executives
  • Reviews all work for errors/omissions prior to turning in work for creative/account executive/client approval
  • Makes all requested changes/corrections promptly and correctly
  • Maintains working knowledge of pertinent software and peripherals needed to complete work.
  • Prepares digital images for use by the interactive department
  • Produces mockups and mounts artwork to boards for presentations
  • Helps to maintain the production area and advises production manager on needed supplies

Skills required for this position include expertise in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and other industry design and production software as well as a working knowledge of typography, photo cropping/sizing, image manipulation, digital illustration skills, 3D rendering and retouching skills, digital and print color specification, etc. Knowledge of interactive/web requirements for preparing images and icons for applications is desirable. They must be highly organized and detail-oriented to ensure quality and efficiency.
