Production Artist

We are an innovative, award-winning agency seeking fast-paced production artist. The production artist is responsible for preserving the brand perception and alignment for each individual client through accuracy, efficiency and attention to detail. Establishing high standards and exceeding client expectations will result from the quality demonstrated in typesetting, layout, design. You should have education in this area and be highly proficient, impeccably accurate and consistently meet deadlines utilizing the full Adobe Creative Suite. We are seeking a production artist with a strong sense of aesthetics, layout composition, color theory and typography. An understanding/knowledge of production of interactive files is desired as well. Someone with strong, sophisticated, conceptual photo retouching is a huge plus.

This is a Production Artist opportunity, not a design position.

• Assist Account Team, Creative Director, Art Directors with requests.
• Prepare client presentations.
• Create PDFs and trim + mount prints to boards.
• Print + bind presentations as requested.
• Facilitate asset requests, un-archiving files, set up photography drives, upload files onto ftp, formatting logos.
• Maintain company portfolios (PDFs and printed) and website updates.
• Manage and archive back-up system and files.
• Maintain organization of servers (file, image, archive).
• Maintain production room organization and order supplies as needed. 
• Production of files responsibilities to include; resize Key Art for outdoor, publications, and collateral.
• Take vertical or horizontal key art finish and adapt to all other formats, extend bleed, design to fit format without going back to a retoucher.
• Create Photoshop templates and build InDesign mechanicals.

• Associates or Bachelors degree in visual communications or arts.
• Printer, pre-press, advertising or creative agency experience at the production level.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience.
• Impeccable accuracy and attention to detail.
• Required: Someone who can navigate the entire Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator) with ease. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint.
• Strong working knowledge of color and file prep, convert from RGB to CMYK (understand color profiles), res up art when necessary.
• Proof and release mechanicals for final output for publications, newsprint and outdoor to printers. 
• Ability to troubleshoot print problems; banding, resolution, color, etc. 
• Retouch/Finish art as needed - add bleed, light beauty and cloning retouching (not required to major key art finishing). 
• Layout tune in + logos in comps, color sketches, set billing blocks and mask images.
• Production of digital assets for digital sites and social content 
• Experience design production for online marketing campaign (banners, websites, social media, etc).
• Ability to prioritize work while taking a proactive approach in gaining and understanding the production process.
• Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously, while consistently meeting deadlines.
• Creative problem solving. 
• Ability to multi-task in a fast paced setting.
• Strong communication skills. 
• Basic web design experience HTML, CSS, Flash is a plus.
• Sophisticated, conceptual photo retouching is a huge plus.
