Production Designer

The Production Designer upholds and reinforces Rishi’s brand positioning, messaging, and image in the tea marketplace. The Production Designer’s primary responsibility is to articulate the brand’s personality and values through the development of visual media including print materials such as packaging, product labels and promotional products. The Production Designer also creates product photography and supports the Art Director with digital needs for web and social media. In addition, the Production Designer is responsible for providing design services for branded and select private label wholesale customers, including customized tea menus, signage, and other supporting materials by request.

Design & Creative Responsibilities:

• Execute and manage design projects and ensure that they meet Rishi brand standards
• Design materials to support the growth of the Rishi brand, including packaging, promotional materials, product photography and other content.
• Prepare and deliver print-ready mechanicals for printing or publication 
• Create, update, and print labels for products and packaging
• Collaborate with Sales and Marketing teams to design custom tea menus, signage, and other supporting materials for Rishi branded customers
• Create graphic elements as needed to enliven designs 
• Collaborate with external freelancers as needed.
• Manage file library and archive of creative content such as origin and product photography.

Brand Stewardship:

• Collaborate with Marketing Director and Art Director to determine objectives, budgets, presentation style, and approaches necessary to complete creative projects
• Interpret and execute on Creative Briefs
• Manage look-and-feel of trade show booths either through self-created booth designs or by guiding outside agencies in collaboration with Creative Team 

Quality Control:

• Confirm accuracy of all files before going to print
• Prep and submit necessary labels and files to Compliance department to ensure Rishi meets neccessary requirements
• Perform quality control of all printed and published materials
• Attend press checks and photo/video shoots performed by outside agencies

GOALS OF POSITION:

• Champion the design of all packaging and printed marketing materials
• Design, edit and update packaging and printed marketing materials
• Collaborate with internal and external parties to ensure all packaging and printed marketing materials meet quality and brand standards
• Contribute and particpate in creative projects as part of the marketing team.

Education and/or Experience Required:

• Minimum 5 years’ experience as a graphic designer in a business setting 
• Full proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Lightroom, etc...) 
• Full proficiency in Microsoft and Apple operating systems and core business programs such as word processors and spreadsheet applications 
• Basic product photography skills 
• Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in a creative field from a four-year college or university

• Experience with CPG package design 
• Advanced photography skills
