Public Relations Account Director
Twin Cities Metro
Minneapolis, MN

Hail Mary PR is looking for an Account Director to lead 3-4 accounts. This person will be empowered to take full ownership of the accounts, managing the client and the internal Hail Mary team to successfully deliver strong work and results.

Strategic thinking, creative problem solving and media relations expertise are crucial and a “roll up your sleeves” attitude when it comes to jumping in to do the work is a must. The ideal candidate is a team player, thrives in an entrepreneurial environment and has a good sense of humor.


  • Build strong client relationships and ensure they’re receiving top notch service. Includes concise communicating, managing and setting realistic expectations, leading with confidence, and using general business and marketing acumen to make decisions and recommendations that ladder up to clients’ business goals and best interest. 
  • Lead strategy, PR planning, and goal and budget setting for clients. Includes the ability to set a smart communications and media relations strategy, nail complicated messaging/writing, and build creative campaigns that can drive earned coverage. 
  • Manage internal teams, providing support and leadership to ensure we’re executing against plans and goals/KPIs. 
  • Manage and be accountable for client financials and contracts (scopes of work, estimates)
  • Serve as direct manager for 1-2 internal team members. Includes ability to mentor, foster professional development, and provide constructive feedback. Comfortability with SMART goal setting. 
  • Contribute to agency growth by participating in new business efforts as needed and actively working to grow existing accounts/relationships.

Expertise + Skill Set:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively. 
  • Solid client/account management, negotiation and troubleshooting skills – experience running or heavily managing an account at an agency is a must. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. 
  • Leadership and management skills – experience managing a junior staff member is ideal. 
  • Ability to manage conflict or crisis communications situations in a calm and concise manner, with support as needed. 
  • Ability to effectively manage and motivate a team. 
  • Proficient or comfortable working in: Microsoft Office, Google/GSuite, Dropbox, Slack, Cision, EOS/SMART goal setting.


  • BA/BS Degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, Advertising or relevant experience. 
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in PR / Marketing / Account Management role (brand or client side), or with equivalent experience.
