Public Relations Strategist

The Public Relations Strategist plays a strategic role in key aspects of Prestige Beverage Group’s communications efforts to ensure the stories of our brands are told in an engaging and consistent way. The Public Relations Strategist supports the coordination and implementation of the communication activities.

The Public Relations Strategist will report to the Communications Director and will work closely with executive, marketing and creative teams to develop and flawlessly execute strategic communications plans across multiple platforms; ensuring that brand messaging is consistent across all departments and channels.

From building relationships with both trade and consumer media, and inspiring positive chatter across social media channels to developing internal and external newsletters, this role promises a diverse mix of thrilling opportunities. Additionally, you’ll be responsible for keeping an eye on media coverage and providing regular media coverage updates to the leadership team.

Position Duties:

  • Work closely with the Communications Director to develop and implement communications plans Create clear, concise messaging for internal and external audiences, ensuring consistency across all communication efforts 
  • Create and deliver press releases, media relations and newsletter content 
  • Establish and maintain relationship with trade and consumer media 
  • Creating social media and digital marketing strategies – from editorial content planning to community management 
  • Maintain Prestige Beverage Group’s online social media platforms including calendaring, content creation, copywriting and community management 
  • Measure and report performance of PR, digital, and social marketing campaigns, and assess against goals to continually optimize marketing plans. 
  • Help define and maintain the voices of all Prestige brands across multiple channels 
  • Orchestrate and organize product submissions to various publications and competitions. Record and communicate ratings, reviews and deadlines
  • Keep up to speed on the latest trends in the wine and spirits industry as well as pop culture 
  • Assist with the brand development process for core wine and spirits products 
  • Other duties as assigned and deemed necessary for the business unit

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, journalism or related discipline 
  • Minimum of four years of Public Relations and Communications experience – six years preferred 
  • Exceptional creative writing and copy-editing skills, as evidenced by past experience and writing samples 
  • Experience in the development and execution of social media strategies and plans 
  • Experience in creating social media content, as well as community management Solid knowledge of consumer insight, engagement platforms and digital analytics 
  • Experience with managing budgets 
  • Solid grasp of various social media platforms - Facebook, Facebook Ads Manager, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, SnapChat, YouTube, and Yammer - and their native advertising and analytics systems 
  • Deep experience with PR measurement and analytics providers such as Cision 
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint - and Internet applications 
  • Experience with email marketing programs such as MailChimp or Constant Contact 
  • Experience with WordPress and other content management systems 
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels of an organization is imperative for this role
