Senior Art Director

As Kramer Madison's Senior Art Director you will pitch, create, develop and supervise strategic marketing campaigns for all Kramer Madison clients. In this role you will plan advertising or marketing, supervise the entire creative process and guide the creative team that works under you. Kramer Madison executes small and large-scale fully integrated B2B and B2C marketing campaigns that deliver on a brand's promise. You will manage and nurture all designers, copywriters, developers, illustrators, photographers, production and film crews to create highly successful, award-winning work. We are a group of curious minds who understand one thing; there is also a better, more efficient way to connect people to ideas. Great big ideas. Really wild circus-type stuff. We juggle everything. Thinking big about design, messaging and delivery is the core of the Kramer process. 


  • Manage creative staff
  • Execute creative in print, digital, social and promo
  • Establish client brands and fulfill clients brand vision
  • Further the creative vision of Kramer Madison
  • Pitch and develop new clients
  • Work within established budgets and timelines

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 5+ years as an Art Director, design background
  • A varied portfolio of work 
  • In-depth understanding of design principles
  • Extremely strong visual composition skills
  • Expert technical skills in Mac-based Adobe Creative Suite, especially InDesign
  • Proficiency in WordPress 
  • Knowledge in HTML and/or CSS a big plus
  • Experienced at pitching work, working directly with clients; business development
  • Agency experience
  • Print production experience (we’ve got big presses, bindery and mailing in house!)
  • Talent development experience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to inspire and motivate staff
  • Strong written and verbal skills
  • Ability to schedule and compartmentalize time
