The Senior Digital Media Specialist will lead the College of Business and Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the use of digital media for online education and academic support, communications, marketing, and campus-supported endeavors. While under the direction of the Assistant Dean, the Senior Digital Media Specialist will have the opportunity to exercise independent initiative and judgment within the boundaries of university policies and established practices. The Senior Digital Media Specialist will provide structure, processes, and support for using digital media in online and traditional classes; marketing campaigns; speeches; and the web. This position requires limited night and weekend work at college and university events.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage media studio, event and project timelines to ensure quality and efficient delivery of services.
- Video production of online and traditional class lectures.
- Ensure high degree of accessibility and availability of college media.
- Develop videos for college marketing and publicity activities.
- Produce live web events broadcast nationally and internationally.
- Train, supervise and mentor student media techs regarding video production and quality control.
- Document technology and processes and follow change management protocol.
- Video record and photograph college and university events as required.
- Consult and advise faculty on the use of digital media in the classroom.
- Work with campus partners to establish plans for the future development of digital media within the college.
- Recommend equipment purchase for future video production needs in consort with campus technology guidelines and alignment with university processes.
- Schedule and coordinate faculty, staff, and guest speaker media.
- Serve as backup classroom AV technology specialist for college as required.
- Stay abreast of new technology developments and “best practices” for higher education video needs and make recommendations for future improvement
- Willingness and ability to be an active participant in following applicable safety rules and regulations including necessary training and drills.
- Ability to interact respectfully with people from diverse socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
