In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and managing the creation, development, and effective implementation of internal communications strategies in the Cardiac Rhythm Management Integrated Operating Unit. This role involves lots of variety, including executive communications, employee engagement, internal communications planning and implementation, and organizational change management. You will work across the CRM Integrated Operating Unit, collaborating with a team of communicators and supporting CRM leadership in its global role.

A Day in the Life

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

  • Creates, manages and implements effective internal communication strategies, programs and content 
  • As part of the communications team, leads strategies, produces content, and organizes events to help align the organization's goals in support of greater employee engagement and business impact. 
  • Manages and executes communications activities around business announcements including business strategy and direction, organizational structure, financial results, employee engagement and recognition, and other critical events. 
  • Leverages internal communications to convey messages to inform, align, and engage employees globally. 
  • Maintains strong relationships with senior leaders to support effective executive communications, ensuring that key messages are delivered and appropriate follow up is completed 
  • Uses expertise in internal relationship management to advise and influence those who wish to communicate and provides counsel and coaching to ensure effective communication to employees 
  • Supports the development and implementation of the internal communications strategy, analyzes effectiveness of internal communications efforts, governs and improves existing processes, and researches new communication approaches. 
  • Shapes messages and leverages communications channels to effectively inform, align and engage diverse audiences, including a tech/innovation/clinical/engineering-focused workforce 
  • Manages internal communications around mergers and acquisitions, business restructuring, financial communications and other critical events 
  • Manages communications consultants for effective programming and seamless integration with business teams 
  • Collaborates with other communications functional leaders to tell a cohesive, consistent story to all applicable employee audiences 
  • Incorporates new technology and techniques to communicate effectively within the business, including reaching remote, field-based employees 
  • Demonstrates strong skills to shape messages, create communication channels, develop strategic communication plans and provide insights and information at both the strategic and tactical level

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree and 7+ years of progressive responsibility in the communications field, including executive communications experience, in either a corporate environment or agency, or Master's degree and 5+ years of experience 

Nice to Have

  • Excellent stakeholder management and strategic, communications counseling skills 
  • Solid project and time management skills; must be able to manage multiple assignments simultaneously and shift focus adeptly 
  • Experience with executive communications 
  • Strong written and interpersonal communications skills 
  • Experience as a thought partner and communications advisor to business leaders 
  • Experience working with and managing communications agencies / consultants 
  • Experience effectively managing multiple, changing priorities 
  • Understanding of basic brand, marketing and design principles 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with colleagues at all levels of the organization 
  • Problem-solving and negotiation 
  • Ability to engage, brief and manage third-party vendors on specific projects 
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite including PowerPoint and Teams, as well as knowledge of industry-standard file types, such as PDF, JPEG, BITMAP, TIFF, etc. Experience with Eloqua or other eMarketing platforms
