THE SOCIAL MEDIA/DIGITAL CONTENT SPECIALIST is responsible for social media strategy, writing, content development, daily monitoring/engagement and analytical reporting on behalf of Insight’s diverse client base. This person must demonstrate social media experience, a strong sense of branding/marketing strategy and the ability to craft messages that connect with a variety of audiences in an authentic way.

Additionally, this position is responsible for working with the content manager to provide copy (AP style), creative concepts, proofreading edits and other input on an ongoing basis. At least 2-3 years related experience and applicable degree are required. Experience in multi-media content development (photography/videography) is a plus. Reports to the Content Manager.

  • Provides social media counsel and expertise as needed by clients on all social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube and more.
  • Strategizes and develops short-term, annual and long-term social media plans for the agency and its clients.
  • Writes creative monthly content calendars for an array of clients to be shared and/or scheduled on a variety of social media platforms.
  • Uses social media software and apps to conduct daily monitoring, engagement and management of each client’s social media platforms. Also, uses software to gather, interpret and simplify social media analytics in a way that is understandable to clients.
  • Works at client events to collect social media content, engage with attendees, post live from events and network with clients and other professionals.
  • Attends client meetings, conducts interviews and researches clients’ products/services/reputation to ensure ability to write accurate, on-target copy for assigned projects.
  • Collaborates with art director(s) and other team members to develop creative social media concepts of outstanding quality that compliment interactive/web, print, broadcast, direct mail, out-of-home and other forms of promotion for the agency and its clients.
  • Helps to ensure all projects support the client’s brand image, product or service, based on their established position, message, tone/manner and goals.
  • Works with team members to verify that all projects are checked and proofread—two people at the draft and two people plus the account executive at final stages of each project, allowing a “fresh set of eyes” to examine the work.
  • Contributes original material to agency blog on a regular basis.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Marketing or Advertising is preferred
  • Photography and/or video production skills a plus
  • Minimum 2+ years in the journalism, marketing or advertising field
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Copy writing/content creation experience for blogging, social media and web
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time 
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a larger team
