JDRF is offering a competitive for credit, unpaid internship, beginning fall of 2018 and running through winter 2019. The event intern will assist Peer to Peer (P2P) and Signature Events development staff in the overall planning and execution of three key fundraising events (i.e. Gala, Ride and Walk).

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with P2P and Signature Events teams to ensure fundraising goals are realized or exceeded
  • Provide event management and administrative support to events including soliciting event participation/support of JDRF’s mission, auction procurement, data management, volunteer coordination and stewardship
  • Support chapter marketing campaigns and drive engagement activity through the management of JDRF branded-social media platforms including Facebook and chapter website

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Interest in special event fundraising, nonprofit management, business and/or communications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Organizational skills – ability to manage time and meeting deadlines
  • Good interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent phone presence
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and MS Outlook experience preferred
  • Experience with Facebook page, WordPress website and SEO management
  • Internship start and end dates flexible; ideally September through January
  • Must be able to commit 10-15 hours per week
  • Must be able to attend the JDRF TypeOneNation Summit on Saturday, November 3rd
