The American Lung Association has a great opportunity for a Specialist, Marketing to join our incredible team in Chicago, IL. Working as a member of the Marketing & Communications Team, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease, through research, education and advocacy.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the American Lung Association’s marketing plans and deliverables for events, grant-funded marketing campaigns, cause-marketing programs, and health education and research programs. Help develop and create marketing tactics, assets and deliverables to support the larger marketing strategy and campaigns.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Director, Marketing and Communications and other senior marketing and communications staff with marketing projects and campaigns for the American Lung Association. 
  • Execute communications and marketing tactics through owned, earned and paid media tactics, as identified by the Marketing Department. Help develop and disseminate marketing collateral material. 
  • Work with graphic design staff to develop marketing assets, which can include flyers, one-pagers, rack cards, brochures, infographics, social media images, web banners, e-signatures, print ads and more. 
  • Write marketing content that can include blog posts, e-mail and web content, social media posts, radio PSAs and more. 
  • Work with marketing staff on ad-hoc promotional activities, advertising strategies, video and photo assets and scripts. 
  • Submit marketing materials through the American Lung Association review, and approval process. 
  • Contribute to the development and distribution of printed and electronic program materials, as needed. 
  • Build relationships with field staff and coordinate promotional activities through field offices, as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors’ Degree in Marketing, Communications or related field required. 
  • Four to five years of experience in executing marketing activities. 
  • Outstanding project management skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with strong PowerPoint skills. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment. 
  • Self-motived, highly organized and detail oriented. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, along with the ability to influence individuals to move projects forward. 
  • Ability to work individually or on a team. Strong, analytical and problem-solving skills with a common sense and practical solutions orientation. 
  • Keen understanding of current marketing trends. Able to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
