Ecolab is seeking candidates for a Senior Marketing Communications Specialist in its Institutional – Distribution business. This position is responsible for supporting marketing communications strategies and plans that strengthen our brand, differentiate Ecolab from its competitors and expand our presence in the marketplace.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist with developing marketing communications plans and is involved in leading the planning of small communication projects or participating in planning parts of a larger project, including digital content management 
  • Manage multiple communications activities, including technical and/or promotional writing and design (print and online), audio and video production and development, and management of digital communications 
  • Proactively suggests communication strategies and tactics that deliver against product/business objectives and enhance the Ecolab brand reputation and experience 
  • Manage online assets and maximize Distributor’s eCommerce sites, ensuring brand, product images and language is consistent with Ecolab’s goals 
  • Develop demand generation campaigns, including creating content and thought leadership materials, designed to drive customer demand and sales team engagement 
  • Uses skills in project management and negotiation to effectively manage large, complex projects with multiple stakeholders 
  • Evaluates messages and creative against brand strategy to ensure consistency 
  • Ensure that information in all marketing communications channels, including print, audio/video and social/digital, is accurate and issued on a timely basis 
  • Work with marketing managers and cross-functional partners to stay abreast of marketing programs, projects, launch plans and portfolio maintenance 
  • Uses problem-solving skills to communicate complex messages in a variety of communication forms to varying audiences 
  • Manage vendor relationships and budget 
  • Ensure that product and service information in corporate communications channels (internal and external) is continuously updated

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 
  • 5+ years of marketing communications experience 
  • Travel 5-10% based on business needs

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, email marketing system 
  • Background in creating successful demand generation marketing campaigns, creating relevant content and understanding the key messages needed throughout the buyer’s journey 
  • Project management experience, including ability to lead project teams 
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or an equivalent solution 
  • Proactive, organized, able to multitask between various projects at one time and able to complete tasks within short timeframes 
  • Ability to interface effectively with diverse groups of people, exceptional organizational skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines 
  • Proven ability to develop and execute marketing communication projects independently 
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in trade show and special event planning and execution 
  • Strong process orientation, project leadership capability and precise attention to detail 
  • Excellent presentation, communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Customer service focused; ability to partner with internal/external contacts 
  • Ability to integrate digital communications into broader marketing campaigns 
  • Experience with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign 
  • Skills in writing memos for senior leaders 
  • Critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills balanced with vision and creativity
