Position Overview:

Reporting to the Chief Product and Marketing Officer (CPMO) of Trimble Transportation, the VP Marketing is a strategy and execution focused Marketing executive who is a great leader and coach. This person has experience at growth oriented companies and is able to own all areas of B2B marketing, including but not limited to: Product marketing, demand generation & ABM, content marketing, branding, public relations, channel marketing, marketing analytics, and events. In this role, the VP Marketing will be in charge of a team of enthusiastic marketing professionals and will direct our marketing efforts towards great success.

What We Need You to Accomplish:

Marketing Strategy and Execution (75%)

As a member of our broader Executive team reporting directly to the CPMO, the VP Marketing is responsible for Trimble transportation’s marketing strategy and shares responsibility to drive growth.

  • Own positioning, messaging, branding, segmentation, marketing strategy, and creative direction; 
  • Support and drive growth for the top of the top line; 
  • Optimize spend across various marketing channels; 
  • Continuously refine comprehensive go-to-market plans across multiple geographies, channels, and market segments in collaboration with general managers and sales teams; 
  • Ensure excellence in marketing operations and integrated marketing campaign execution; 
  • Provide customer insights based on data and research

Marketing Team Leadership (25%)

  • Be a great leader, coach, and manager to the marketing team 
  • Hire and develop highly functional marketing leaders 
  • Play an active role in boosting engagement, transparency, passion and accountability from the top of the organization down 
  • Manage marketing financial budgets 
  • Be a single point of escalation to the marketing organization on day-to-day tasks and responsibilities 
  • Create clear and concise goals and establish individual accountabilities for the marketing team as a whole

What You’ll Bring to the Position:

  • 8+ years of experience in managing and overseeing enterprise level marketing initiatives, which require collaboration across various departments in a matrix organization 
  • 5+ years of Demand Generation Experience 
  • 5+ years of direct team leadership/management experience 
  • Experience of running marketing for $75M+ high growth SaaS 
  • Strong understanding of inbound and outbound marketing for the enterprise, as well as "land and expand" B2B sales; 
  • Demonstrable experience of positioning a company in a competitive market and winning market share; 
  • Experience in both transactional and enterprise go-to-market models; 
  • ROI-driven approach to marketing and strong attention to detail; 
  • Clear, effective communication skills and experience in a collaborative, transparent, and hands-on environment; 
  • Good eye for design and creative assets; 
  • Low ego and high intellectual curiosity; 
  • Bachelor's degree is required and an MBA is preferred
