RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Arranges layout of graphics and copy and participates in creative project development based upon supplied guidelines and instructions, brand protocol, available space, knowledge of layout principles, and aesthetic design concepts.
  • Works as a part of a team throughout the entire design process.
  • Researches current marketing and communication trends to ensure designs are appropriate for the target audience; communicates with superiors during development process; confirms project specs/mechanicals during preproduction phase.
  • Creates digital and print experiences considering current and future usability, functionality, product knowledge, brand standards, sales trends, and available information. Suggests design possibilities and confers with stakeholders as opportunities arise.
  • Meets regularly with superiors, design team, creative department, and other marketing personnel.
  • Proofs each assigned project for quality and accuracy prior to proofing; presents design concepts to clients for approval. Collaborates with requestors/stakeholders to align project expectations.
  • Makes changes as indicated on proofs and requested by client taking into consideration set standards, communicating directly with commenters as needed.
  • Follows a production timeline to ensure tasks are being completed by their scheduled due dates. Communicates with supervisor on any issues that may jeopardize a project deadline.
  • Demonstrate collaboration skills by providing input and seeking direction from stakeholders and design supervisors.
  • Actively seeks to improve knowledge in sales, reporting/impact metrics, marketing, purchasing, brand establishment, customer support, and other areas of the business.
  • Stays on top of current hardware/software and understands different design application techniques in a fast-changing business.
  • Works autonomously and as part of a team; collaborates with stakeholders on all assigned projects; mentors Associate Designers and Visual Designers I on projects as requested; and independently seeks out new techniques and design applications and communicates with creative leadership.
  • Collaborates with creative leadership on project prioritization and scheduling; assists in problem-solving and workflow optimization to ensure fast, professional results.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from two-year or four-year college or technical school; 
  • 4+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
