Job Description Summary:

Responsible for the development of client communication marketing activities for partners and external audiences. Manages the creation and implementation of the communication strategy for programs and campaigns that address marketing initiatives. Researches and analyzes products or services to help determine a marketing strategy. Works with the sales staff, marketing directors and relationship managers to promote marketing campaigns and programs.

Major Duties:

  • Responsible for the development of communication strategy for marketing programs and campaigns that address strategic Northern Trust Wealth Management initiatives; translates strategy to implement concrete plans. 
  • Writes and edits marketing materials specific to Wealth Management products and services, from thought leadership to nurture campaigns; determines the theme and content and coordinates the development of materials with public relations and outside design firms. 
  • Manages the targeted distribution of consumer magazine, newsletter and other sales and marketing materials promoting product lines or the communication of financial information to specific target audiences or market segments. 
  • Interacts with various areas of the bank, including product and sales areas, to gather information and data for creation of marketing strategies and content. 
  • Works with the sales staff, Wealth Management marketing directors and relationship managers to promote marketing campaigns and programs. Monitors response rates and business results.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of financial services and relevant marketing concepts preferred. 
  • Exceptional writing skills and creativity are necessary to develop materials and partner communications. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills required to interface with partners throughout the organization. 
  • Computer skills (ex: PowerPoint, Word, Excel) are necessary to create materials.
  • Solid project management, organizational and multi-tasking required to manage a variety of ongoing projects.

Experience:

  • Five years of marketing, writing or other relevant experience, preferably within financial services, preferred.
