What you'll be doing:

We are looking for an experienced communicator to join our team to help build Baxter's reputation among key partners. You will work with our Global Communications team and the Healthcare Systems & Technologies (HST) business segment to reach key audiences through traditional and social media and owned channels, with the autonomy to implement your ideas from start to finish. You’ll be responsible for implementing communications plans that span internal and external audiences in support of business objectives and other initiatives as needed.

Critical Responsibilities:

  • Support external and internal communications for the HST business segment, including promoting product and platform developments and innovations, healthcare conferences and events, and content that speaks to relevant healthcare trends. 
  • Develop and implement multichannel, tactical communications plans 
  • Uncover compelling stories from employees and find new and innovative ways to weave them into communications platforms. 
  • Develop internal communications materials, including content for town halls, emails, videos and internal social media messages to help drive engagement, keep employees informed, and help to maintain a common sense of purpose among teams. 
  • Assist with media relations, including pitching and securing media placements, developing press releases to promote key achievements, and crafting key messages and other materials to support our response to inquiries from journalists. Research media outlets, contacts and coverage relevant to business objectives. 
  • Create key messages, Q&As and media statements, among other materials, on a wide range of topics and issues, including research, drafting and editing. 
  • Build and manage strong relationships with HST and corporate leaders to help implement communications initiatives. 
  • Partner with our Global Communications team to develop dynamic content for Baxter's social media channels and websites, in alignment with our overall content strategy. Act as a conduit between the Global Communications team and the business segment teams to ensure content is aligned with our business strategy. 
  • Understand Baxter's brand guidelines and communications policies and support internal partner education and alignment

What you'll bring:

  • Bachelor's degree required in English, marketing, journalism, public relations, advertising, or transferrable area. A minimum of 4+ years proven experience in corporate communications or public relations. Healthcare industry experience desired. 
  • Demonstrated experience working partners to build effective messages 
  • Strong and versatile writing skills for a variety of content types, channels and topics. Experience writing for the web and social media. 
  • Proven ability to find, research, develop and promote compelling stories in engaging ways across channels and audiences
  • Strong project management, time management and organizational skills. 
  • Highly motivated, with ability to make decisions independently. 
  • Flexible and agile, with the ability to quickly change course when need arises.
