Aquent’s client is looking for an active, experienced Production Designer. This is a 40 hour a week, on-location, contract position in Menomonee Falls. This position will work on client's packaging brands and spring catalogs/mailers. Candidates must be active, experienced Production Designers. The projects being worked on are intensive, and technical/pre-press training will not be provided. (Training WILL be provided about project flow.)
More details:
- Will work on packaging brand line extensions, which would include updating and adapting packaging to new dielines and/or products within the category. Executing new formats from existing style guides, and must have the ability maintain very specific brand guidelines while doing so.
- Will work on packaging projects that involve a tremendous amount of SKUs and detail. Candidates must be extremely detailed-oriented.
- Must have sound knowledge of: a) File building, b) Maintaining file integrity and consistency, c) Releasing files (i.e. preparing files to print and to send to our vendors), and d) Managing retouching work (i.e. tracking photography through the various steps of the retouching process)
- Must be able to listen well, take direction, and follow an established process.
- Will work directly with full-time design staff on some projects and must have the initiative to take ownership of their role in the project. Must have the ability to review and proof their own work against the project job brief and project request, and be able to catch any mistakes they've made before moving project on to the next stage.
- Using primarily Adobe Illustrator, working on a Mac. In addition, they may also use PhotoShop and InDesign.
