The Piper Sandler marketing team seeks a creative, proactive and driven individual for its summer intern role. We are undergoing exciting organizational changes, making this a great learning opportunity for the right person. Candidates must be eager to learn with the ability to contribute sound ideas and quality work product in an extremely fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The Marketing Intern will assist with a broad range of day-to-day marketing, production and administrative duties. S/he will work 30-40 hours (4 -5 days) per week at Piper Sandler’s downtown Minneapolis office.

The position requires a precise attention to detail. It will involve helping with internal and external website updates and proofreading and writing newsletters, biographies or articles using our corporate templates and brand guidelines. S/he may also update the company’s social media pages.

Other responsibilities include organizing files, conducting research, data entry and generating reports. Additional tasks and projects as assigned.

The Marketing Intern works under the direction of the Marketing Communications Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Produce printed and online marketing collateral - 25% 
  • Create, deploy and test HTML e-mail blasts; maintain distribution lists and generate reports - 20% 
  • Update company website and intranet - 25% 
  • Generate reports, maintain data and conduct research - 5% 
  • Write, proofread and edit articles, Web content and bios - 20% 
  • Maintain project status, deadlines and contacts in the marketing project tracker - 5%

Essential Qualifications:

  • Solid organizational, communication and multi-tasking skills 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 
  • Highly attentive to detail 
  • Copywriting or editing experience 
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple deadlines and requests simultaneously

Desired Qualifications:

  • Basic knowledge of HTML and CSS 
  • Experience in print and online marketing production 
  • Experience with video editing, Microsoft Sharepoint, ExactTarget and/or analytics software 
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel 
  • Familiarity with AP editing style 
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver (or strong desire to learn)
