2D/3D Graphic Production Designer

Position Overview:

Under the direction of a 3D Production Manager, the 2D/3D Graphic Production Designer is someone who performs a variety of both 3D and 2D design and graphic duties, in accordance with company policies and procedures. Duties include 2D design, 3D design, post-production render quality control, screen (re)placement, render alteration, product graphics, logos. Production Specialist II will assist other designers as required, and should be articulate, self-motivated, and able to respond to changing project demand. This is a non-supervisory position.

Responsibilities:

2D Production:

• Graphic design and generation for equipment customization
• Ability to create and troubleshoot print ready documents
• Understanding of RAL, Pantone, RGB and CMYK systems as they relate to designing for printed media
• Post-Processing of 3D Renders
• Support and maintain libraries containing client brand guidelines, vector source files and other graphics resources
• Familiar with mapping conventions and map file organization
• Able to match material and color to technical specification
• Produce compilation images with Photoshop, Illustrator and or node-based compositors
• Color-grade images for consistency and quality prior to handoff or review
• Decal template creation using Solidworks and Illustrator
• Decal template library maintenance
• Decal fit prototyping and testing using banner printer

3D Production:

• Create product renderings to support Johnson Health Tech's marketing effort
• Support and maintain libraries containing models, materials, studios, etc.
• Translate and maintain models that will be used for CG visualization and support model modifications as required
• Setup, model, rig, light, shade, render and composite 3D scenes for various product renders
• Able to schedule render requests into day-to-day operations
• Produce animations from 360-Turntables to high production feature marketing spots

Develop Industry Knowledge and Network:

• Stays up to date on industry trends and styles
• Involved with peers in professional development, classes, or associations
• Strives to constantly improve skill sets: illustration, printing processes, communication, 3D & 2D
• Willingness to learn or expand upon knowledge relating to CAD systems, 3D Production and 2D Production

Project Management:

• Project management responsibilities including planning, evaluating, organizing, and integrating projects
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Project Management and Leadership Functions:

• Engages in the typical responsibilities of planning, evaluating, organizing, and integrating a project.
• Encourages other designers to communicate their innovative ideas and helps them to illustrate such ideas.

Marginal Job Functions:

• Complete special projects as required
• Facilitate render reviews among stakeholders

Education:

• Commercial Art or Fine Arts Degree with an emphasis on Graphic Design required
• Commercial Art Degree preferred

Experience:

• 3+ years related work experience
• Bachelor's degree in Digital Art, Graphic Design, Game Design, Animation, or equivalent

Other Requirements:

• PC based: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Microsoft Word, Excel required

Skills:

• Able to understand 3D modeling and sketches
• Creates clear understandable layouts, sketches and illustrations
• Able to effectively present ideas and information through oral, visual sketch, and written communication skills
• Skilled at troubleshooting computer issues on the Windows platform
• Willingness to learn CAD systems and advanced 3D systems
• Has worked with consumer products preferably in the fitness arena
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Strong sense of initiative and a sense of urgency, demonstrated by accomplishing tasks; improving current work processes; and assisting others when necessary
• Unwavering attention to detail and commitment to world-class quality
