Account Director

A Minnow ACCOUNT DIRECTOR is responsible for leading and growing client business while mentoring the account team that supports it. An Account Director develops, recommends and presents strategic solutions that build brand equity and deliver measurable results for the client. Other duties include serving as the liaison between the client and the agency’s creative, account and project management team; ensuring that financial aspects of the account are managed according to the agency procedures and engaging in new business development, including expansion within existing clients. On a daily basis the Account Director coaches and mentors the extended account team with enthusiasm, experience and passion for astounding customer service.

Clear understanding of assigned clients’ strategy

Present agency’s POD to existing/new clients

Deepen industry knowledge/expertise as appropriate on assigned client business

Constant curiosity: looking to outside categories for scalable, innovative business benchmarking

Present ideas that will grow agency’s business — through capability, process, innovation, ideas, etc.

Develop relationships with key influencers on business, expand agency reach

Onboarding of new clients: establishing our relationship and expectation setting internally and externally

Establish regularly-scheduled team updates, check-ins

Protect and grow current agency relationships

Direct / redirect activities of the extended account team

Grow / develop the next generation of account staff; team resources

Accountable for Account team performance


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, brand management, communications or similar
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in an account leadership position
  • Strong interest in brand communication and well versed on the impact brand plays in culture and business
  • Polished, outgoing and approachable
  • Excellent communication skills (phone, email, text and traditional letter writing)
  • Highly organized with superior time management skills
  • Excellent listener
  • Committed to excellence
  • Microsoft Office + understanding of Mac / Apple products
  • Strong desire and drive to do what it takes to be successful
