Account Executive, Social Media
Southeast Wisconsin
Milwaukee, WI

We are seeking an Account Executive, Social Media that will contribute to the success of one or more accounts with the core responsibilities for building and supporting social media programs, campaigns, and strategies on assigned accounts. In partnership with the Account Supervisor, Social Media, and Director of Earned Media, the Account Executive, Social Media will support and work alongside internal teams to deliver work that is on strategy, on time, and on budget. Successful candidates are strategic and social media savvy individuals with demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and managing a wide range of social media marketing efforts for a variety of clients/brands.

The following is a summary of the specific areas of responsibilities and the expected skillset of an Account Executive team member.

Overall Client Leadership

  • Demonstrates an understanding of the client’s overall business, brand vision, and strategy for assigned accounts. Meets with earned media, paid media, performance marketing, and account management counterparts on an ongoing basis to stay informed of updates/pivots to strategy and adjusts deliverables and outcomes accordingly.
  • Delivers excellence on behalf of BVK and our clients. As such, is seen as a channel expert on the account when it comes to executing and delivering on campaign expectations.
  • Serves as client support on social media strategy-related work. Has excellent written and verbal communication and clearly articulates project goals, objectives, and updates in a timely manner.

Social Media Strategy

  • Serves as the social media strategy support for a client or project, crafting and outlining the most appropriate social solution.
  • Expected to take a hands-on role with team assignments, from vendor communication and coordination, to writing and publishing as well as supporting client communication.
  • Assists in the building and management of integrated social media content programs, whether paid, organic, or a combination of both
  • Demonstrates an excellent understanding and experience with social media platforms, monitoring, and the importance of analytical insight to convey the impact of efforts when reporting.
  • Works independently and as part of a cross-functional team of strategists, project managers, and creatives.

Business Development

  • In partnership with Account Supervisor/Director of Earned Media, supports organic growth efforts of assigned accounts.


  • Manage budgeting efforts for social media campaigns, which includes recommending spend levels based on audience size and campaign goal, ensuring proper pacing to efficiently reach total campaign spend, working with paid media team on billing and reconciliation, and the like.

Project Management

  • Manages client project initiatives from start to finish with limited/minimal oversight. Gains necessary internal/client approvals and keeps client and account team informed of pertinent updates.
  • Owns project management timelines and internal communications. Manages day-to-day processes on assigned accounts by identifying, communicating, and confirming deliverables.

Training/Supervision/Agency Performance

  • Mentor AAEs on social media practices, including content development, paid social strategy, and channel best practices.
  • Contributes to internal team members’ performance evaluation upon request.

Required Skills/Experience /Competencies:

  • 3-4+ years agency or comparable business/client-side experience with a strong grasp of all facets of social media marketing
  • Experience successfully supporting major social campaigns (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest) with demonstrated results is required. Familiarity with TikTok, YouTube, Tumblr, Clubhouse preferred.
  • Experience with social management and listening software (such as Sprinklr) preferred
  • Proven track record of partnering with internal and external teams to develop social media content
  • Passion for social media trends and emerging platforms and technology
  • Proven success as a project manager. Has to experience:
  • Balancing multiple initiatives, clients, deadlines and teams.
  • Working with cross-functional teams to produce work that’s on time, on budget, and on strategy.
  • Understanding data to drive strategy/project next steps.
  • Demonstrates exceptional interpersonal skills both internally and with clients.
  • High sense of urgency and has innate sense of curiosity about problem solving and learning
  • Previous experience managing budgets, preferred
  • Ability to pivot/course correct without becoming overwhelmed
  • Exemplary organizational skills, time management and attention to detail
  • Projects confidence in front of clients and large internal teams
