We are seeking a highly organized, results driven, collaborative account lead to join our growing team in the role of an Account Executive. With unlimited PTO, a community giving program, and an always learning culture, CB&A offers a flexible and purpose-driven work environment in Madison, WI.

An Account Executive candidate should have at least 3 years’ experience in an account services role to be ready to advise clients and direct successful marketing communications campaigns.

The Account Executive contributions will include:

  • Client Account Management: Create and execute marketing communications campaigns, develop and manage marketing campaigns that strategically manage client resources while achieving client goals, manage the day-to-day communications. 
  • Marketing: Manage the creation and execution of marketing communications campaigns including email marketing, ambassador programs, event management, media relations, thought leadership, content marketing, social media engagement and advertising. 
  • Communication: Supervise writing of marketing materials and advise about campaign execution and audience engagement. 
  • Strategic Management: Assist in strategic planning and budgeting, offer opinions and perspective of how marketing supports the goals. 
  • Client Retention: Achieve client goals, nurture relationships and secure contract renewals. 
  • Revenue Generation: Achieve individual revenue generation goals, maximize client budgets and upsell clients. 
  • Consultation: Provide strategic counsel to client liaisons regarding marketing communications opportunities. 
  • Business Networking/Relationships: Develop and maintain good working relationships with clients and prospects, list vendors, media contacts, association executives, industry VIPs and bloggers. 
  • Event Coordination: Coordinate and plan company and client activities at industry trade shows, media interviews, and special events. Occasional overnight travel may be required.

To be successful in this opportunity, an Account Executive will need:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing, Communications or equivalent work experience 
  • At least 3 years relevant work experience in an account service role responsible for client and/or marketing communications 
  • Ability to foster teamwork, mentor junior staff and thrive in a collaborative environment 
  • Previous work experience creating and managing project budgets 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, portraying a high degree of professionalism 
  • High level of attention to detail and strong customer service skills with demonstrated relationship building skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically and to provide strategic insight and analysis to solve problems 
  • Ability to use discretion and judgment in dealing with sensitive and confidential information 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications 
  • Previous experience in the education marketplace 
  • Proficient with Twitter, Facebook and other social media tools 
  • Proficient with Mac OS 
  • Previous work experience with project time tracking 
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule including in-person and remote
